That dog owners should pick up their dogs mess

We live in a quite rural village & we have a number of parks & fields around which is great for lo's to run wild.

There is also a designated dog walking field which is away from where pedestrians would walk normally & to be fair it is used by the majority.

However behind us is a lovely field, half of it was a football pitch for the local team, but the parents refused to pick up anymore dog shit before matches so now it has become the unoffical dog toilet.

The other half has 2 play parks in it,one for toddlers & one for older children.

There are about 6 dog mess bins around this park but i am sick & tired of having to scrape dog shit out of our shoes!

There are signs up asking people not to let their dogs run loose if they cant control them but tbh everyone lets their dogs run loose.I have to keep my ds in his buggy or carry him as it is the main pathway to the village centre also.

What really fucks me off annoys me are the owners who pretend to bend down to pick said dog shit up but then when you have passed they stand up & leave it there.

Oh & i once asked someone, politely mind,to pick up their dogs shit & they told me to f off & mind my own f'ing business, all in front of my ds who was 18mths at the time.

Its not the dogs fault its the irresponsible owners.

Feel better now,rant over

Yanbu. There are loads of chavvy lads near me who have big scary dogs (someone has actually been bitten they're so awful ) and there is poo on all the pavements. I call the council all the time as I'm sick of it. Its a nightmare with the buggy or when I'm letting ds toddle.

I've noticed recently that dog owners around here do pick up and bag their poo but then just throw it into a hedge! I suppose at least it's not on the floor to get trodden in but hedgerows festooned with bags of shit are less than ideal tbh.

Nobody will disagree with you!

We have a neighbour who lets her dog poo right by the communal washing line and never picks it up.
She denies it's her dog, even though we have seen it and her dog is the only one with access to the area.

Meglet - I am so scared that a dog will bite ds i keep such a tight hold of him when walking through there.I dont want him to grow up scared of dogs but i also dont want him to be bitten by one either.

The other day dh was walking through the park & somebody let their dog shit right next to the dog shit bin WTF!!

AlistairSim - thats horrible, what a stupid woman for saying its not her dog.I would be tempted to pick it up & put it on her doorstep.

yanbu. People are so selfish sometimes.

YANBU. We are supposed to wash our hands compulsively because of swine flu, yet dog owners (of which I'm one, and yes I DO pick up after my dog, and other people's dogs too too!) are allowed to leave their dogs' smelly, toxic, disease-carrying waste on pavements and in parks?? Apart from the health aspect, it is illegal. Shop the owners to the council/police pronto. Gah!!!
Ok, I'm off to make some coffee now
