I can't get into the old thread so I think we filled it up! I hope everyone finds the new one.

So nice, shiny new thread, nice shiny new AIBU.

AIBU to be jealous of my DH's correspondence with a stranger?

Pogle, I feel I ought to know yours but I'm not getting anywhere.

Maria, this isn't ringing bells at all now. Doh!

Oh blimey, that was a clue! I thought it was a reproach to me for neglecting domestic tasks!

Hmmm, unless you've been on a spree in Diagon Alley it doesn't help, I'm afraid.

...We did go far the day we lost the neighbours' baby...

OP posts:
Pogleswood · 16/05/2009 20:52

And I was thinking I might know yours,Moomin, until your last clue!Did your mishap happen on a Thursday,by any chance?

I'm a poet and travel a lot,and never have any money - perhaps providing a dream house is impossible..

MoominMymbleandMy · 16/05/2009 20:58

Why yes it did, Pogle!

Your DD isn't called Henrietta, by any chance?

OP posts:
Pogleswood · 16/05/2009 21:09

Yes,indeed! Actually would like to have included Hugh Anthony, cos I love him!
Your book - I've not read it ,and now it's reprinted I'm trying to decide whether to buy it.Did you enjoy it?

MoominMymbleandMy · 16/05/2009 21:14

It is good but not as good as the Marlows. But I still think it's worth buying. If nothing else, you can put it aside for a few years and watch the price climb

OP posts:
MoominMymbleandMy · 16/05/2009 21:22

Oh and well done Pogle! That's really impressive for a book you've not even read.

AIBU to think my second marriage has been a mistake. My DH isn't used to children although he has two of his own. But they spent most of their time at boarding school before we married. Now, with his two and my three together he is constantly losing his temper with them.

OP posts:
Pogleswood · 16/05/2009 21:23

Yes,-'to my dear children I leave my valuable collection of childrens fiction'!DD will be pleased!

Pogleswood · 16/05/2009 21:25

Sorry, cross post! I've spent a lot of time thinkingabout reading it! Must go and relate to DD who is hovering nearby - will ponder your marriage problem!

CJCregg · 16/05/2009 23:48

See, look what happens when I go out for a couple of hours? You go hareing off, bloody guessing them all.

Damn, I never read the Thursday Kidnapping - was too much of a Marlow snob. Should have picked up on that clue, though ... woolly head.

Not been to Diagon Alley, either. Did the shopping (did I mention that?!), visited my ancient mother, then got into a spot of trouble with some rather rough types ...

MoominMymbleandMy · 17/05/2009 00:51

Sorry CJ, I didn't quite catch what you said, something about shopping, wasn't it?

You went out! At night! I think I can remember doing that...

Never mind, you are amply revenged because your one is niggling away like an itch I can't reach.

Night all!

MoominMymbleandMy · 17/05/2009 01:04

Is it Saturday, CJ?

OP posts:
CJCregg · 17/05/2009 01:10

Well done! You really are the thread queen.

Now go to bed, give your (admittedly brilliant) brain a rest.

Pogleswood · 17/05/2009 09:34

No wiser about yours CJ,what was it?(Moomin superior in setting and solving!).Didn't get Dr Seuss either.Or Lizzie Dripping.Sniff...(at least I know I never read Lizzie Dripping, and didn't like it on the telly!)

MoominMymbleandMy · 17/05/2009 11:42

Good morning and aw shucks, you two! That is so nice (and undeserved) because there have been loads (generally the more 'high-falutin' types) I've not got.

...It is just one row after another. My eldest DS plays his records too loud, and his eldest DS sneaked out to a disco. It's what teenagers do but my DH over-reacts everytime...

OP posts:
pollywobbledoodle · 17/05/2009 18:18

popping on to say hello and that i haven't a clue about any of them yet...

SnowWoman · 17/05/2009 19:37

DH sounds a bit of an ogre to be honest Moomin!

I love this thread - wish I'd found it weeks ago

CJCregg · 17/05/2009 19:44

Moomin, I really haven't a clue ... (you should see my google history, and the books Amazon is suggesting I might like to buy, based on my recent searches!! Lonesome George the Giant Tortoise of the Galapagos is currently top of my list ...)

Will try to come up with a new one a bit later - got to cook supper now.

Thanks, all you lovely ladies, for keeping this thread going. I spend far too much time on it but I do love it.

pollywobbledoodle · 17/05/2009 19:58

aibu to shoot the sherriff?

MoominMymbleandMy · 17/05/2009 19:59

Oh well done, SnowWoman! Perhaps we should just leave him downstairs in future.

Hi Polly, CJ, I waste way too much time on this but hey, as the DD says. Lonesome George is probably a good read even if it doesn't have a happy ending.

AIBU to not want my son to marry my ex-DH's daughter?

OP posts:
MoominMymbleandMy · 17/05/2009 20:01

Polly, not if you didn't shoot the deputy.

MoominMymbleandMy · 18/05/2009 00:01

llandb, lovely to see you and hope you're not talked out!

...I don't think I am being U. I have quite enough reminders of my ex-DH in my life as it is. For a start I am married to his cousin...

Night all!

OP posts:
pollywobbledoodle · 18/05/2009 12:28

my man's life had such a promising start winning praise for his writing.....

MoominMymbleandMy · 18/05/2009 13:34

Afternoon Polly, no, they're English, I'm afraid.
Another clue for your one, please?
