I would say that its impossible not to look unless you are wearing horse-style blinkers.

Equally if I was using a laptop on a train I would "expect" the person next to me to look so wouldn't look at anything confidential for eaxample.

One thing that age has taught me is that most people have a terribly inflated opinion about how interesting their work is, and how important. It's mostly all bollox, and most people are winging it.

oh i agree. Its only a job, I htink maternity leave makes you realise that.

Some times though oyu do do somehting at work that makes you feel "old" or too young/too much of a prat to be doing it

I always listen in to conversations betwen people who are sitting behind me on the bus or train and hope they get off first so I can see if my mental image of them is correct. If they don't I have to surripticiously look through their window on my exit.
