That anyone has bothered mentioning that I am entitled to free prescriptions?

And apparently they last for a year after the baby is born.

Now I have sent the form off but apparently it will be a few weeks before the card comes so in the meantime i will be paying for another prescription for iron tablets as I have nearly run out.

I only got my MAT B1 this and last time after I badgered them for it, and kept being told conflicting info about the no of weeks pg I had to be before they would give it to me.

AIBU to be naffed off with the whole thing?

BTW the midwife told me the GP should have done it, and the GP told me the midwife should have done it. Great help there, thanks.

yes, i think you can claim back what you've paid. and yes, tell the pharmacist you're pregnant.

good luck.
(we qualified for working tax credits about 6 months ago ()and i only discovered a month ago that our prescriptions are free, too.)

Not from 2 years ago though! Or even 6 months without a receipt, surely!

Working tax credits mean free prescriptions as well that 's a new one on me too...

When i was obviously pg or had a child under one no chemist ever asked to see the card!!! I don't think you have to have it in your hand just say it's on order I mean it's obvious that your pg, they won't mind.

Hi Bigbella, Yes tax credits can mean that you are due free scripts but only if you are at a certain level / as skint as me Also If you do qualify for the white card that gives free scripts from tax credit people you may also be eligable for things like free loft and cavity wall insulation...

I didn't realise that one for a long time

I guess we should all get ourselves a benefit check up ...
