Well....yesterday I had to fill up petrol, there were 2 pumps per side and I was in teh one further back...
as I walk up to my car (after paying), I observe a woman trying to align with the petrol pump in front of my car, and making a right pigs ear of it, but hohum...who cares if the car is about a meter away...wouldn't have really botehred me that much...but than some other numpty woman did the same on the other side, leaving a very very small "alley" to squeeze through....I mean WHY????
especially as they had nice cars (unlike us)....
(and I couldn't really wait for either of them to finish and move, because it was busy....

than today teh driver infront of me, was sort of swaying with his car from side to side....and it really freaks me out when people are unable to drive "straight" (well, as in a follow the road sort of way....iykwim....

Or in the mornings when stuck in traffic jams and women put their whole fecking make up on....WHY???????????? especially if they forget to move with the traffic and causing further delays...

I am by no means a perfect driver, but gosh does it wind me up, lol...

As a cyclist I get very annoyed with stupid careless drivers.

FairLadyOfMuslinCloth · 01/05/2009 16:41

cycling over here can defintely be a dangerous way to get about....I was really surprised when I moved from Germany to the UK and the lack of cycle paths, etc...

I so want to get a dashboard exterminator.
Just some little gadget that makes satisfying sounds of destruction whenever someone winds me up.
Cut me up? Take this you sw*ne! Did not indicate? Feel the sting of my lazer gun.
Very childish i know but keeps you from getting too angry.
My dad has a little plastic Stewie from "Familly Guy" who makes withering remarks...great!

beanieb · 01/05/2009 16:48

YANBU I hate hate hate drivers who swing wildly out to the left before turning right. Bastards!

HecatesTwopenceworth · 01/05/2009 17:18

oh yes. I nearly hit a car today! I was driving down a road and this total numpty just came tearing out of his driveway onto the road right in front of me! I had to slam on the brakes and really thought I was going to hit him!

He mouthed something at me that I choose to believe was "sorry", otherwise I'll have to go back there and scrawl "wankstain" down both sides of his car.

HecatesTwopenceworth · 01/05/2009 17:20

oh and before that, still today, I had stopped the car and when coming to get out again, had to reverse-forward-reverse-forward because there was a car inches in front of me and one inches behind me. Then the car behind BEEPED at me, cos they wanted to get out and couldn't until I was gone.

ffs, couldn't they SEE the car in front of me? Someone with eyesight that bad shouldn't be bloody driving.

FairLadyOfMuslinCloth · 01/05/2009 17:22

so scary those near accidents aren't they....
I had a near accident a while back on a roundabout...I was going straight over, so, was on the left hand lane and this arsehole just cut me off (came from middlelane, crossing infront to exit the roundabout)...I actually had to pull my car round quickly or I would have hit that bastard....I was completely shaken ...

Today's pet hate is people who open their car doors into the side of my car (which has happened again today). Can they not see that there's another vehicle parked next door to them? Why do they have to fling the bloody doors open with such gay abandon!

Oh, and morons who don't know where their indicators are.

Oh, and another thing, people who drive with their fog lights on in bright sunlight - why?

FairLadyOfMuslinCloth · 01/05/2009 17:51

makes me think, that there are a lot of muppets on the roads, aren't there

Grrr my mil is a pain in the arse for swinging the car door open,i have only drove her as a passenger a couple of times & when i do i have to remember to park as far away from other cars as humanly possible cos of her.

I mean FFS,why??

And why do wvm, white van men, think its ok for them to chat on their mobiles whilst cutting you up,bloody twonks!!

catwalker · 01/05/2009 18:08

Shellingpeas - indicators!! One of my pet hates too. You wait politely at a roundabout for a car which then blithely turns off before it gets to you - without indicating of course. And people who talk on mobiles I could cheerfully shoot.

Then of course there are the people who shout foul abuse out of their windows for the slightest transgression. One day last week I stopped at a roundabout to let a police car with its siren on go straight over. I pulled out cautiously looking to make sure there wasn't another one following only to have some vile women shout out of her window, "could you go any f*king slower?" My windows were down and I had my 10 year old in the car. Bitch. Same roundabout a few days earlier I saw a bloke lean out of his window and shout "get a fcking move on cnt" at an elderly gentleman who was driving sedately round the roundabout. Give me a machine gun and I'll make the world a better place ....

themoon66 · 01/05/2009 18:10

Why are people so aggressive on the roads? It's getting too scary out there these days Why do people forget any manners they've ever been taught when they become drivers. If they bumped into someone accidently whilst walking I bet they would screw their faces, shout and scream obsenities.

However - in defence of drivers who swerve around a bit - that would be me, dodging the potholes. I have a tiny car and a pot hole can buckle a wheel and cost me a fortune to replace!

juneybean · 01/05/2009 18:16

Oh I'm really pissed off with driving lately, everyone else doesn't seem to give a flying fuck about anyone else on the roads and just seem blinkered.

Last week I was on a dual lane roundabout and someone on my right drove straight in front of me to come off?!

No one around here has indicators. They're rare

No one says thank you when you let them passed or whatever.

FairLadyOfMuslinCloth · 01/05/2009 18:19

moon...npo potholes though...roa all newly done recently...the person had others in the car , and kept looking at them and they were all fooling about...which made me even more cautious...I kept my distance....

I als get annoyed by people that are right up your backside when you drive at maximum speed limit...I mea...why? Did you not see the sign?

However, there was a conversation on the radio about slow drivers, that drive well under the speed limit being good to calm traffic...and I was ....because, whlst I am obeying speedlimits and on svervy roads will possibly go below...but driving 30 in a national speed limit are, well...that ain't calming me at all...because that is a bit slow...

must admit, driving does bring the worst out of me...i.e. I may curse a lot if there are enough numpties...however, I wold never ever ever actually shout out obscenities to otehr road users....I sort of curse to myself....

on a positive note though...in the mornings there is always a specific stretch on that route where it is slow and very busy, and most drivers, including myself, let people in from the sideroads, etc...and I think it is nice, I mean, nothing worse than people not letting you in, is there, especially when you have to wait for ages and worse if you have to cross over the lane to the toehr side....
