Ex has been offered job in Middle East (not Dubai, but other 'safe' country so no obvious terror risks etc). Very good salary, would be working there for 6-8 weeks at a time, then home 3-4 weeks etc.
He has work in the UK for the next couple of months but nothing yet beyond that. If he stays here, its likely any new work will be less well paid than current work, and probably only 50% of what he could earn abroad.
We have had various problems since we split up, we get on ok at the moment (generally because I avoid getting into arguments with him, or provoking him) but I know in some ways my life would be easier if he did go.
I do feel a bit mean about that though as I know my DCs would miss him. They currently see him every day for an hour or so, all day Saturday and half of Sunday. Having said that I know from the DCs that he spends most of Sat asleep, watching football or playing Gears of War (or whatever its called) on the Xbox .
He seems unsure whether or not to go, but that seems as much to do with being bored over there as missing the DCS, and I feel he wants me to make the decision for him...so AIBU to encourage him?
