Having just heard it applied to KFC's new 'Luxury lunchtime panini'

Any other 'luxury' products out there ?

tampons apparently, hence the VAT

HolyGuacamole · 28/04/2009 22:17

Every single new house/flat or development nowadays has 'luxury' emblazoned across the advertising billboard. Paper thin walls, bedrooms that fit only a bed (no furniture), 2 feet of space between each house....yes, must be luxury, lets add a zero onto the price.

AnyFucker · 28/04/2009 22:20

another irritatingly over-used word is "fresh"

"freshly-cooked"

"freshly baked"

"freshly-cut"

arrrggghh

The Morrisons tv advert makes me want to top meself....

TheCrackFox · 28/04/2009 22:24

Holyguacamole, you beat me to it. I hate the term "luxury apartment".

HerBeatitudeLittleBella · 28/04/2009 22:26

"Select" and selected is another one

"From selected farms"

Well they're not bloody going to be from unselected farms are they? Bloody tautology

moondog · 28/04/2009 22:28

Even worse when it's 'luxe'/
Apparently Brits are so thick that anything in French makes us believe it's like, ten times better.

moondog · 28/04/2009 22:29

Aye Beatitude.
You think along my lines.

Other similar irritant is 'helps keep teeth fresh/hair shiny/skin clean/fanny fresh blah blah blah

Helps what exactly ffs???

winestein · 28/04/2009 22:31

I have to say, I prefer "luxury" to "quality". The latter being a little less, well, defined.

HolyGuacamole · 28/04/2009 22:31

Oh moondog, 'luxe'.......

HolyGuacamole · 28/04/2009 22:32

I kinda hate 'tailored'....as in "our service is tailored to your individual needs".

Boak.

winestein · 28/04/2009 22:34

Ha - yes. Tailored in that "we cast a cursory glance and thought this might be up your street". Or not.

You have to love marketing!

pointydog · 28/04/2009 22:37

oh lol @ luxury kfc.

It's all relative

HolyGuacamole · 28/04/2009 22:39

Oh somebody shut me up I'm on a roll.

I kinda hate 'discerning' too.....for the 'more discerning' buyer...

Boak.

TheCrackFox · 28/04/2009 22:41

"bespoke" seems to be going to same way as well.

LauriefairycakeeatsCupid · 28/04/2009 22:52

oh god yes, bespoke - as in "we have 15 kitchens, choose that and a worktop and it's bespoke"

is it feck
