to be fed up of spending every weekend on my knees in public toilets

DD is 3.6 and for some reason whenever she wants to or is trying to do a poo she wants to cuddle me. Whether it's to gain extra 'purchase' or something, or she just wants me around, I'm not sure.

I work 4 days a week and we end up going out and about a lot on Fri-Sun and so I feel like I spend all weekend on my knees in toilets in shops, leisure centres or other public areas.

Anyone else have DCs who do this? Will I still be doing this when she's 15?

How many people, do you think, are going to click on this thread expecting something slightly different to your actual issue>

er me...

It gets better! My dd, same age as yours more or less, has just stopped doing this and now wants to go in alone. Much much better. Could you say something like: "DD, I wonder if you can do it all by yourself yet? Like big girls do?"
But, no, YANBU!

SolidGold - I would imagine about 100%, what do you think?

PMSL solidgold . I was definitely a bit ?

PortoPandemico · 28/04/2009 13:37

I had the same thing. Now she is 5 she likes a bit of privacy and always shuts the door

lal123 · 28/04/2009 13:43

she'll grow out of it eventually - how many 18 year olds do you know who need their mum to cuddle them to have a poo?????

angelene · 28/04/2009 13:47

You're all so helpful - thank you.

Lal - I was being just a teeny bit sarcastic.

To be honest I wouldn't have posted but for the fact that on Saturday as I was on my knees in M&S toilets again, I thought it would make a great MN topic title

What do you mean the dirty mind brigade.

I thought the poor woman had severe ms/hyperemesis as I myself suffered.

When people complained about the toilets at the hospital being "dirty" I stuck up for the cleaners. In our local hospital I was on my knees many many times with my head down the loo. Most were spotless fwiw. If I had met the cleaner I would have bought her flowers.
