Oh I hate that too.
Yanbu.

Nancy66 · 28/04/2009 11:57

absolutely hate that - ditto sneezing.
I sometimes say 'can you cover your mouth please.' - but only if they look like they won't thump me.

MogDog · 28/04/2009 11:58

she might have swine flu aswell

PuppyMonkey · 28/04/2009 11:58

She probably has swine flu too.

PuppyMonkey · 28/04/2009 11:59

Snap!

waitingforgodot · 28/04/2009 11:59

thing is...........she looked like a presentable middle aged lady who should know better

If it happened lots of times with no hand covering mouth it would annoy me. If it was juist one sneeze it wouldn't.

ThePhantomPlopper · 28/04/2009 12:00

You need to tell them to cover their mouths.

My DH hates when i tell people to cover their noses and mouths when they cough and sneeze, he runs off pretending hes not with me.

I hate it and they need to learn.

waitingforgodot · 28/04/2009 12:09

is it not a bit confrontational to tell someone to cover their mouth?

andlipsticktoo · 28/04/2009 12:16

ew!

Used to work in a supermarket in the eves for extra cash and this used to happen ALL the time!

The worst thing that happened though was a guy was fiddling with his ear just before handing me a £20 note, when I took it it had a huge amount of ear wax on and I got it all over my hands! (vomit)

What's wrong with some people?

ThePhantomPlopper · 28/04/2009 12:18

Not if you do it politely and not if they are struggling with a child, shopping or whatever.

waitingforgodot · 28/04/2009 12:19

oh yuk andlipsticktoo.
that is vile

OP posts:
ThePhantomPlopper · 28/04/2009 12:19

FGS i'd chase after him if he put ear wax all over my hand. Dirty bugger.

andlipsticktoo · 28/04/2009 12:49

Was too to chase him!

But coughing openly.... happened all the time.

Gemzooks · 28/04/2009 12:51

oh god yes it's lovely when they cough on your change and then give it to you... slightly moist!

MadHairDay · 28/04/2009 13:01

Not covering mouth is just wrong. Why do people do this? ewww.

KittyBigglesworth · 28/04/2009 16:48

Ugh this is horrid. ThePhantomPlopper, I admire your courage in educating these people. I'd be worried that if I did that I'd get stabbed or spat at! Good for you though.

I can't believe that these people don't know that what they're doing is anti-social and can spread disease. Is it a case of "What you gonna do about it if I do?" It reminds me of that 'computa sayz no' character from Little Britain who openly coughs in the face of whoever she's had the joy in disappointing that day. It's as though they take joy in offending others.

junglist1 · 28/04/2009 18:21

Usually I drag my kids away from them while saying errgh. Seriously. What if it was an infectious disease and not just a run of the mill cough? Nasty.

waitingforgodot · 29/04/2009 11:35

sign me up for one of those swine flu face mask things

OP posts:
Peachy · 29/04/2009 11:43

Somebody did that to me yesterday and my thought wasn't exactly pig flu but ugh, fu bugs etc

Then I thought regardless of flu, maybe she ahs hayfever (it was sneezing) it's just bloody rudce and disgusting

YANBU, at all.
