AIBU to be and that firstly they even do mandarin cheesecake in the first place, which is wrong, but that the shop only had a frozen one which will take 2.5hours to defrost!

WTF!

pmsl AMumInScotland - my MIL stopped making strawberry cheesecake because DH ate so much, she started making pineapple cheesecake because he's allergic!

Pav, is there not a 24hr Tesco nearby?

pavlovthepregnantcat · 26/04/2009 21:17

Dizzy - DH said it does not open late on a Sunday Why is it 24hours then? I could call them to check...

Cheers Pavlov

I am sympathetic for your cravings, honestly.

I had a terrible craving for cauliflower cheese when expecting DS2. Not just any cauliflower cheese, it had to be Birds Eye frozen. Only one shop within 10 miles sold it and I freaked out when they were out of stock one day. DH went back next day and bought up their whole delivery of 20 packets.

I went off it the next week

dizzydixies · 26/04/2009 21:21

SaintGeorge - bless your DH.

pavlovthepregnantcat · 26/04/2009 21:22

what did you do with them? Or had you eaten all 20 packets by then?

Slice it into tiny slices (use a very sharp knife). Thin slivers will defrost in maybe 20 minutes.

I used to cry when dh came back with the wrong pudding/sweets etc.

SaintGeorge · 26/04/2009 21:26

I still had about 14 left

Luckily my mum liked the stuff so I gave them all to her. I barf at the sight of one now.

DH is very forgiving. Just as well really.

pavlovthepregnantcat · 26/04/2009 21:26

onepieceofcremeegg - DH has done just that, and put in on top of the cooker with the oven on! It is almost done, he has taken the mandarins off it, and placed it in front of me stating 'give it 5 o 10 minutes, it will be ready' A tiny poxy slice which will evaporate and it is in front of me, and I cant even eat it!!!

I told him he was taking the piss. In jest of course

pav - has he seen this?

onepieceofcremeegg · 26/04/2009 21:33

obviously you don't just eat one tiny poxy slice. You should eat all of the tiny poxy slices, in fact the entire cheesecake, you deserve it.

pavlovthepregnantcat · 26/04/2009 21:33

WOW there are some amazing looking cakes there! I like the one with the strawberries on top, that looks nice, with a simple cheesecake on the base, thats ok. The smarties one, , but wow!

Do you make your cakes for these guys? If you do, you are some talented lady!

OP posts:
dizzydixies · 26/04/2009 21:36

no no no, am not talented in the slightest - occassionally I show them to dh and tell him they cost £50 so he should be grateful with my pathetic offerings

pavlovthepregnantcat · 26/04/2009 21:36

onepieceofcremeegg, for some reason your post has made me really chuckle, I have tears rolling down my cheeks!

onepieceofcremeegg · 26/04/2009 21:39

I'm not generally particularly funny.
Must be your hormones making you chuckle so much.

Enjoy your pudding. I like posting on threads where the op is pg and has a food related crisis - have been there myself many times.

pavlovthepregnantcat · 26/04/2009 21:41

What pg? Or having a food crisis?

OP posts:
pavlovthepregnantcat · 26/04/2009 22:02

Right, I ate one slice of almost defrosted mandarin cheesecake. It was gross, I feel sick sated now and am off to bed!

I am sure DH will serve it to me for breakfast [barf]. I think I am over my cheesecake craving for now

Kiwinyc · 26/04/2009 22:04

I love frozen cheesecake... i prefer eating it that way, is that weird?! Granted its a bit of a battle, but its worth it!

dizzydixies · 26/04/2009 22:04

oh no, what a shame - hope you have a good night sleep at least

onepieceofcremeegg · 26/04/2009 22:08

Oh sorry I mean I had many food crises. I also used to go off my cravings very rapidly and my wheelie bin was the fullest it has ever been. I only have 2 dds, that was enough for me.

To this day I avoid rich tea biscuits and anything with ginger in.

sleep well pavlov.
