I didn't get Big weekend tickets
I live within Swindon postcode so was in with a bigger chance of getting them and still didn't
I am very sad and angry and upset

Who is playing big weekend this year?

itchyandscratchy · 26/04/2009 20:42

seemingly not! They are worse things in the world to be and about

Would be a good idea not to listen though

muppetgirl · 26/04/2009 20:45

I know some that did and some that didn't. We didn't but then didn't register and live in the postcode area. Plus are prgt so couldn't really go anyway.

Am leaving home that weekend though...

Dh thinks anyone who did get tickets should be made to get to Lydiard via the magic roundabout

he's evil...

pointydog · 26/04/2009 20:46

agree with diamond, moyles is unbearable

retiredgoth2 · 26/04/2009 20:46

...shame you didn't get the tickets.

I mean, there have to be some consolations for living near Swindon...

...still waiting for Home Service big weekend tickets here.

Though I was recently given tickets for Just a Minute (with Clement Freud) but they went unused for lack of urchin care...

compo · 26/04/2009 20:47

I heard Moyles was about to lose his job

Yurtgirl · 26/04/2009 20:48

at urchin care retiredgoth

Nicky - I also am now almost entirely converted to radio 4 with quite a bit of radio 2 and world service thrown in

In fact am now off to listen to archers omnibus on iplayer

DisasterEggs · 26/04/2009 20:49

exactly.
if i have to live near the bloody place.
if i have to work in the bloody place.
And i can negotiate the magic roundabout with one eye closed and both arms tied behind my bloody back.

am going to miss Lily Allen and The Prodigy.

bollox.

I may have a teenage child but I really am too young for radio 2.

juneybean · 26/04/2009 20:50

When it was in Sunderland, people got in free anyways because of where it was, they couldn't exactly stop people going because it was a public park.

Wilts · 26/04/2009 20:53

Sorry you didn't get any. I got some, but loads of my friends didn't. Strangely some people I know got two sets and I though it was only one pair per household?

DisasterEggs · 26/04/2009 20:54

wilts. That is sooo unfair.

OP posts:
retiredgoth2 · 26/04/2009 20:54

....I salute your magic roundabout navigation, OP.

It scared the bejesus out of me.

...my feral 10 year old could sing you a version of 'Firestarter', if that is any help?

Yurtgirl · 26/04/2009 20:54

Disaster - So sorry I meant to add that it is a shame you didnt get tickets - console yourself with the thought that you might not even like who is playing anyway...

muppetgirl · 26/04/2009 20:54

You're right though, it is a crap place to live we can't wait to move on...

and I love to scare the hell out of my canadian sil's (I have 2) when I take them round the magic roundabout as they think they're going to die as they don't do roundabouts at all really over there! (Oh the screams in the car )

mollyroger · 26/04/2009 20:56

retiredgoth? you had golden tickets???

ok, , pigeonhole me. I listen to R4 and 6 Music....

mollyroger · 26/04/2009 20:56

I'd pay good money to miss Lily Allen...

Sorry about you missing the Prodge though.

DisasterEggs · 26/04/2009 20:58

So anyone want to donate me their tickets then please

OP posts:
Wilts · 26/04/2009 21:00

Disastereggs- you don't happen to work for SBC do you? as they were being offered tickets to work at the event for four hourly slots.

retiredgoth2 · 26/04/2009 21:00

....I did indeed have Golden Tickets, Mollyroger....

Passed on to me by my sisters, also unable to go.

...getting to the Metropolis for 6.30pm on a Tuesday from a Bristol dormitory suburb practically Bath, and arranging sedation/secure unit for the urchins proved impossible....

Home Service and 6 music? Go together well methinks..
