And not be called a "girl"? I like lager and lime. And cider and black. So shoot me.

I've tried Archers. It tastes of alcohol. Vodka is awful. I guess I should just stick with soft drinks.

wheresclaire · 24/04/2009 23:12

Malibu an coke?

OP posts:
Thunderduck · 24/04/2009 23:13

Tried Malibu too. I can still taste the alcohol.

nappyaddict · 24/04/2009 23:14

Reef? Bacardi breezers? WKD? Archers raspberry?

notnowbernard · 24/04/2009 23:14

The Best Cocktail In The World is a ......

Mojito!

Wonderful

wheresclaire · 24/04/2009 23:15

Blimey I thought I was bad! Reef, mmm. Havent had that for ears. Memories of throwing up in Ritzys toilets after one too many bottles of that! Just like orange juice.

anything antifreeze coloured should be steered clear of imho

Thunderduck · 24/04/2009 23:20

I always thought a Seabreeze sounded nice. Perhaps I should try that.

notnowbernard · 24/04/2009 23:20

Seabreeze lovely IMO

Desiderata · 24/04/2009 23:22

I work in a pub.

Really, you should ditch the lime. And the black.

As a side line, the credit crunch has occasioned more groups of students to come in wanting soda and black, soda and lime, soda and orange.

As these full pints come in at just 20p, and they're taking up eight good seats, I do not offer them a second round.

tigerdriver · 24/04/2009 23:23

Lager top is better.

Cider and black is ,,well so black country 80s...

My favourite schoolgirl drink, which I may have to recreate tomorrow: brandy and pep.

Hope these are all pints and not girly halves. nearly left a v nice pub the other day for saying "that'll be a half then". Er no.

Ronaldinhio · 24/04/2009 23:24

mean old boot

wheresclaire · 24/04/2009 23:24

I am still waiting to like Tonic water so I can ask for a gin and tonic like a grown up lady. I still have gin and bitter lemon like my nanny!! Tonic always sounded so grown up. Like coffee. A grown ups drink.

WHY are students drinking pints of carbonated water though?

Thunderduck · 24/04/2009 23:25

A cape cod sounds nice too, though as it's just vodka and cranberry juice I think I'd probably still taste the vodka.

Ronaldinhio · 24/04/2009 23:26

according to my mates daughter university students are now genuinely poverty stricken and spend their time either smuggling chekov vodka into venues or getting pissed and pilled up before they go out

fryalot · 24/04/2009 23:26

desi - if you work in a really busy pub fair enough. If there are empty seats though, let them stay, a busy pub will encourage other drinkers. so even though the soda & lime folk aren't spending much themselves, they may be encouraging others to spend by their busy-ness

wheresclaire · 24/04/2009 23:27

I ALWAYS drunk lime and soda when I was a student. Purely because its 20p. You still get to go out for the evening but only spend 40 pence.

OP posts:
notnowbernard · 24/04/2009 23:27

Have had a seriously episode on Chekov vodka before

BigBellasBeerBelly · 24/04/2009 23:28

What about a nice cold cider thunder?

TBH there's no point in forcing yourself to drink if you just don't like it.

Wish I was like that...

notnowbernard · 24/04/2009 23:29

I know a nice alcoholic drink that doesn't taste at all alcohol-y and induces very pleasant haziness... Weston's Organic Cider

notnowbernard · 24/04/2009 23:29

Over ice

Thunderduck · 24/04/2009 23:29

LOL drugs are out for sure.

It's just that occasionally when I'm in a restaurant I want something a bit more interesting than soft drinks or water. And they rarely have non alcoholic cocktails. And some of the alcoholic cocktails sound so nice and refreshing.

Ronaldinhio · 24/04/2009 23:31

apparently when you add chekov to alcopops it tastes just the same as any other expensive vodka so what's the point!!
this is the explanation anyway

that must be a grim hangover cheap vodka added to blue drink

wheresclaire · 24/04/2009 23:32

Is pear cider nice? Never tried it but think I might like it?
