For not really being comfortable leaving small child and baby in the house while I move the car on a busy street...

If the kids happened to be awake I could put them both in the car just to change parking spaces. Huge hassle but....
If one was asleep, I would feel VERY uncomfortable leaving the house to move our car.
Am I being daft? They are 2 and 9 months.

is it that important to move the car at that very moment?

BiscuitStuffer · 24/04/2009 20:59

It would be - the car is parked in the current space to 'save it' for a truck to come in there next week. They give us a 2 hour window of when they would arrive and then I would have to do it.

i leave my 2 in the house to move mine but dd2 is normally asleep and dd1 is 6, front door is open. Take them out with you imo

Take them with you, hassle but peace of mind.

plimple · 24/04/2009 21:05

You know your kids. Can you trust them to be alone for 5 mins? So long as they're safe and won't be distressed by you being out of sight for 5 mins what's the problem? I'd hope the 9 month old was asleep and the 2 year old could watch you out the window. Assess the risks and minimise them.

specialmagiclady · 24/04/2009 21:06

I'd leave the sleeping one, take the awake one.

Or what I've done in the past - give the truck driver keys to my car and get him to move it.

I would leave them, I would feel very anxious whilst doing it but I'd do it. If the 2yo were asleep in a bed that he could get out of I think I'd wake him though.
