I'm nearly 14 weeks pregnant after 2 previous miscarriages. I've got a scan booked for 28th April - and as you can imagine I'm pretty nervous about it. I'd given my apologies to a meeting in work that afternoon, just said I had a hospital appointment. Now I've received a letter from the chair basically saying that because of all the apologies the meetings had to be cancelled and its a real hassle and I'm a bad person.

I just burst into tears.

Have a meeting this pm with same person - would IBU to tell her that her letter was very inappropriate, that if she's checked with her secretary she would have seen I have a hospital appointment and that the health of my unborn baby is much more important than any stupid meeting????

you would not be U, but tell her in an "ohh, you cant have known" kind of way or you will end up looking the U one.

'because of all the apologies the meetings had to be cancelled'

That sounds like you're not the only one who couldn't make it, or am I wrong?

it is unreasonable to expect the world to stop on it's axis for you kidder. the chair may not know your obstetric history, the chair may not know that you have an antenatal appointment- i am sure if you tell her the reason this afternoon she'll be more than supportive of your situation.
