DH wants to dig out part of our (sloping, eroding, gravel) drive to lay some paving stones so that he can jack up his enormous estate car and do some thing to it that in a garage would take whole weekend days and apparently would cost 'lots'.

I'm feeling rather like it's something I don't want him to do but can only come up with these reasons:

  • I don't want to end up a widow with a young child
  • I don't want to be stuck looking after my (absolutely gorgeous but entertainment-wise v v high maintenance DD for 6 days in a row, or worse, 12 - which is what it will be if he does it on a Saturday and a Sunday).

I sense though that from a cost pov I should be less self-serving

YANBU, I hate any unheaveal at home and also if you are alone with your DD all week then its understandable that you need a bit of family time at weekends
