to feel pissed off at my sister

Was suppose to be away for weekend break this weekend. Dads 70th dirthday so me, DH and 2 girls, brother and his family, sister and her family plus my mum and dad all going away to lovely hotel down south.
On tuesday however my youngest came down with chicken pox. Sadly had no option but to decide that only me and my eldest (age 5) would go leaving youngest and husband at home. Then on wednesday we noticed she had a small infection at side of her mouth which GP diagnosed as impetigo(must have got it at nursery). She was also really poorly with CP so I also decided to stay at home as my parents said they would be happy to take my eldest with them- she was so excited about going away.
Let everyone knew the new plan on thursday lunchtime. later that day we took youngest back to gp as she wouldnt take her antibiotics- while we were away brother phoned and left message to ask me to ask GP to check eldest over for signs of imetigo. I received this message when we returned. It dawned on me that there were concerns about my eldest going on the holiday, carrying the infection and passing it on. Seconds later the phone went, it was my sister (who had obviuosly been talking to my broth) saying she had phoned her GP and got information about impetigo and did i realise how infectious it was and did I know we werent suppose to share towels, bed linen etc etc. !!!!!! I was so shocked and she didnt give me a chance to speak so I just said 'right she not coming , Im not having everyone worrying about it, its not fair on her, she will be really upset but we'll deal with it, she not coming'. (her bags were packed ready to leave next morning) She then said shes not worried cause her kids are older but my brothers kids are younger and hes worried.
SO, AIBU to be pissed off that she phoned her own GP instead of speaking to me (I have spoken indepth to GP and explored condition on line) and also she then proceeded to tell me all about how to prevent it spreading- does she think we are stupid!! we have gone to HUGE lengths to prevent it spreading! I would never allowed her to go if she was gonna put others at risk.
They are all due back tonight and I just dont knew how Im gonna react when I see her. AIBU to be narked

Think you are probably quite sensitive as you are pissed off at the whole situation - you were obviously all looking forward to it. for you.
I would not be annoyed at your sister ringing GP - at least she wanted to find out the correct facts before calling you, and to be fair, the docs is a good place for that.
I would be slightly bugged by all her advice, but it was probably well meant.
You may have gone to huge lengths to prevent it and know all the details, but unless you have told ger this, she would not actually know.

agree with Jackstini, she was only trying to help your brother out by getting info. it was a bit patronising to call you and make sure you knew, but hey, I think she was just trying to do the right thing.

i think it was unnecessary of you to spoil your daughters weekend break just because you were cross with your sister though!
I'd have just said "oh yes, we're aware of the contagion risk, we'll be very careful" and then gone and had a lovely time

Thanks for that. Probably did over react. Was shocked and felt they didnt want her to go, would be funny about her playing with their kids and didnt trust us to be responsible about it. Should have explained all the measures we have taken to both sister and brother and then asked them what they wanted us to do. Ahhh hindsight!
We are taking both girls away for weekend away in couple of weeks to make up for it. Made this weekend special for her too with lots of fun - thankfully shes fine and not too disappointed.
