First bit of sun and all I can hear are children having a nice time. Wish they'd all go back inside and play on their x-boxes so I can enjoy the sun in peace and quiet!

Yes you are being unreasonable, but do appreciate that peace and quiet is nice

greatwhiteshark · 19/04/2009 17:50

ps. I am actually joking

LOL.

I live near 4 schools and I love it when the kids are playing out on their breaks

MrsMattie · 19/04/2009 17:52

Noisy kids enjoying the sun. Tut. Were they munching on BBq-ed drumsticks while their mum hung out the Comfort-smelling sheets with a fag in her mouth?

Call the cops!

MayorNaze · 19/04/2009 17:54

did you hear the slurp of frootshoots and the munch of Greggs pastry products?

TheCrackFox · 19/04/2009 17:55

I have always loved the sounds of children playing, even before having DCs.

Which is quite lucky because about a million children live on my street.

HecatesTwopenceworth · 19/04/2009 17:56

Sadly there are many people who do feel that way about children's noise.

That's really sad. I LOVE to hear kids laughter and games. It's really cheerful.

edam · 19/04/2009 18:07

Our grumpy neighbour has already been out to tell the children off today (not mine, ds is out seeing friends but all the neighbours' kids are out). Miserable old beggar. One of the other mums who lived on this street as a child says it was just the same when she was little...

Today, lovely weather, having a lovely time in the garden and then nextdoor starts to play the drums. He is in his 20's

Now that is annoying.

spicemonster · 19/04/2009 18:13

I really like it except for the Italian boy 2 doors away who lives on the first floor and whose mother never went into the garden with him so he used to get her attention by shouting MAMA at the top of his voice every 30 seconds.

Luckily he has now grown up and is a sulky teenager so I am getting my own back with my impossibly loud shouty toddler who makes a racket even when I am sitting 2m away

OrmIrian · 19/04/2009 18:17

Oooh shark! Are you a single lady in your 60s who lives at the end of our street? If so I hate to tell you that your nickname is 'the angry witchlady'

Although if it were you I'd be surprised that you were wanting to 'enjoy' anything apart from a good moan.

greatwhiteshark · 19/04/2009 19:10

Orm - how did you guess!?

When I was little, the scary witch was Mrs Plant. Always moaned on about us kids who played in the run behind the houses. She gave me a sweet one day and we all thought I'd been poisoned. Still remember how scared I was and I was only 4...

LOL I live next to a park and I hate that bloddy ariel runway thing, and the screams that go with it, they can go and play in their own gardens surely .

Nice sunny sunday and out came all the fecking BBQs and music, why does everyone feel the need to share their music with the street, I had radio 1 on one side and radio 2 on the other.

Stayingsunnygirl · 20/04/2009 12:10

But surely that added up to Radio3, skramble - nice soothing classical music!!

steviesgirl · 20/04/2009 12:16

There's nothing more beautiful than the sound of children's laughter and joy. It's heaven sent (as are children), and it's very reassuring to hear as you know that they are happy and healthy. When my dd tells me she's happy, it makes me the most rested soul in the world
