I dont mind them in theory but we get far too many here, we get at least 2 every week, and this week we have had 4 so far all for collection monday morning so the collection people will be having fun distinguishing between all the bags!! We live on a newish build estate so some people here do have money - but we dont!! and this many bags is just ridiculous noone gets through clothes that fast surely! its not like they are all different charities, these bags come from about 5 different charities so most do it about once a fortnight but for some reason we have 4 this week. Im tempted to ring the charities and tell them to stop doing them, or at least not as often as its getting silly around here with them coming so often! aibu to expect charities individually to leave a good few months between colections on the same street?!

Oh god, I'm with you on this. Help the Aged are the worst offenders round here. I filled one bag and left it out; they took it and at the same time replaced it with another empty. Yup, of course I give clothes away every week!
It says on the bag the day when they'll collect "empty or full", but do they pick up the empties? Do they fuck. At one time I had three or four of the stupid things sitting in the porch because I mistakenly believed they'd keep their word and actually take them away again. But no, they prefer to litter. Bastards.

I don't do them but for another reason.

Last year I packed up a bag of really nice (but no good to us anymore) clothes.

Left it on doorstep at 08.45am...it was gone at 09.00am so I thought job done.

Walking to the shops later that day I saw all my clothes strewn all over a bin yard dirty and wet.

My neighbour told me she's seen some gippos take the bag.

They'd obviously gone through it, taken what they want and ditched the rest.

I was really annoyed so now I take the stuff to the charity shop in person.

I've done quite well this week I only had 2 bags and 4 leaflets to be attached to a plain bin bag!

One cheeky collector tried taking some stuff out of the porch (was bagged up and ready to go with a friend who was visiting sitting in her pushchair!) even though their leaflets etc clearly state that you have to leave donations on the road side because they won't enter your property!

The bag was sitting in the pushchair not my friend.
