To think that Kirstie Allsop is hardly 'making do and mending'

Excuse me but is she really trying to tell me how cheap it is to do up a huge victorian house?

How much did those chairs cost to reupholster? Digging about in skips my arse.

Asking Cath Kidson for tips on frugal living, have you seen how much she charges for a flippin tea towel?

Cant wait for next week's ideas for 'saving' money.

Was abit pants, yeah...

FluffyBunnyGoneBad · 16/04/2009 21:03

It's bad taste to start a thread based on someone's post!

chegirl · 16/04/2009 21:06

What post?

I said on a thread months ago that poor Kirsty and channel 4 would have to replace 'location, location ,location' with make do and mend programmes because of the state of the economy. I was soooo right!

smallorange · 16/04/2009 21:11

I know - £45 for a crappy print - that trader saw her coming...

TheFallenMadonna · 16/04/2009 21:11

Hardly a thread about a thread

LadyOfWaffle · 16/04/2009 21:12

I am not sure OP was referring to your post... just using the same words

Littlefish · 16/04/2009 21:12

I had a similar chair re-upholstered about 3 years ago and it cost £275.00.

I didn't like the red cushions, I would have used a bolder colour/pattern for the curtains, and I would have put in a sofa rather than the twee chairs.

Obviously I know more about design than Kirstie

chegirl · 16/04/2009 21:12

Oh yeah THAT post

Thought I was getting a proper Mumsnet telling off then

I just spent 10 mins looking for a post about this

now I am running out of emoticons

What will I do now?

OP posts:
ItsMargotBeaurEGGarde · 16/04/2009 21:12

You two just agree with eachother that's all!!

It's hardly surprising. Anybody really broke wouldn't be able to restore fireplaces and so on.

FluffyBunnyGoneBad · 16/04/2009 21:13

It's alright. PMT

Sorry.

MrsMcCluskey · 16/04/2009 21:13

What a sipering wimp she's turned into
GEtting so excited abut a bloody cushion
Does she still have placenta brain or something?
Shite programm

ronshar · 16/04/2009 21:14

Maybe the television people are beginning to feel a small bit of responsibility for driving up the houseing market and everyones expectation of what a house should look like when it is being sold!!!
Make do and mend my foot.

chegirl · 16/04/2009 21:15

I thought it was going to be full of useful tips and such.

No she gets in some interior designer 'friend' and two seamstresses to knock her up some curtains and throws.

Didnt ya just love that picturesque hamper they carried the bits of horribly expensive sourced fabrics in?

OP posts:
GentleOtter · 16/04/2009 21:16

Actually chegirl, your emoticons look like a Cath Kidston design.

FluffyBunnyGoneBad · 16/04/2009 21:16

There are tips on the web site apparantly.

chegirl · 16/04/2009 21:18

Oh Fluffy i thought you were joking!

Dont be

OP posts:
chegirl · 16/04/2009 21:20

gentleotter did you like they way I picked out the main colour scheme, discovered a little man who traditionally crafts emoticons and sourced them?

OP posts:
FluffyBunnyGoneBad · 16/04/2009 21:24

I was joking! There's no way you could have written and started a thread a minute after my post. No one's that fast!

Ohhh blast!!! I meant to sky+ this. Does anyone know if it is going to be repeated?

GentleOtter · 16/04/2009 21:36

Yes. I was most impressed and perhaps a tad envious. Here is my effort....

FluffyBunnyGoneBad · 16/04/2009 21:36

Haaa.

I will have to hunt you down and throw chosolate fudge cake at you if you do this again!

GentleOtter · 16/04/2009 21:38

Fluffy. Are you Kirsty Allsop ?
