to think DP should do the Kate Bush pointy-toe dance when Wuthering Heights comes on Spotify

I am 39 weeks pg and am have SPD. DP is doing loads of things at home that I would normally do and says several times a day that I must ask him to do anything I can't do myself. He is lovely.

BUT

yesterday Wuthering Heights came on Spotify. Normally I would leap up and do the pointy toe dance but trying to stand on one leg would be a big mistake.

AIBU to think DP should have done it on my behalf?!

oh yes he should. i'd like to see that too

but what is spotify?

tallulahbelly · 14/04/2009 12:27

Yes. Naked too. That would cheer me up a lot.

mollyroger · 14/04/2009 12:28

YANBU - it is The Law that someone has to do wierd dancing to Kate Bush.

SheherazadetheGoat · 14/04/2009 12:34

yabu - you may have spd but you are perfectly capable of waving your arms in teh air and rolling your eyes.

i used to know a girls whose party trick was to 'wuther' as we called it.

cornsilk · 14/04/2009 12:35

Of course. And Baboushka in silver armour as well.

wasabipeas · 14/04/2009 12:55

YABabitU
Was their anything stopping you doing the seated waving arms dancing which DC and I when listening to Kate Bush in the car?

wasabipeas · 14/04/2009 12:56

OR the literaly mime
"heathcliffe, its me, Cathy, I've come home" = drawing the outline of a house with forefingers
"so cold" = hug self to warm up

SheherazadetheGoat · 14/04/2009 12:58

such a good song i do love a bit of kate.

PlumpRumpSoggyBaps · 14/04/2009 13:09

Hmmm.... I don't know. If he were incapacitated and a Madness song came on, would you get up and do the Madness dance for him?

If yes, then YANBU.If no, YABU- it's a two way street y'know....

troutpout · 14/04/2009 13:20

yanbu

mollyroger · 14/04/2009 13:21

you're supposed to sort of cartwheel your arms with fingers coming from your chest and spiralling outwards...
Nowe, I can see you can't do that with knees bent in a squat/thrust position in your condition, but you could at least do the cartwheeling arms, hmm?

harleyd · 14/04/2009 13:22

yanbu
its almost sacrilege not to

vezzie · 14/04/2009 14:58

Excellent points by everyone - seated wuthering will take place in future

Plumprump - yours really made me think. It's so easy to get all me, me, me at this stage of pregnancy. I am going to start practising all the lapel stuff (again, possible while seated) to make sure that I can be as supportive to DP in the future as he has been to me in this difficult time.

I've got SPD too, so sympathise.

I find this version of 'Wuthering Heights' more conducive to chair dancing:

GentleOtter · 14/04/2009 16:20

yanbu. He must waft some chiffon too while he is doing it.

redrobin · 14/04/2009 16:34

pmsl...found myself plucking imaginary lapels in Madness stylee whilst reading this...too hilarious. (am also 38 weeks pg with spd, so think will get DH to dance in my stead tonight when he comes home.)
