To think that Scissor sisters, Mika and They might be Giants are not that bad in the uncool stakes?

DD who is 7 is out playing with her friends and has asked me to shut the window incase her friends hear my uncool music. Now I'll give her the John Barrowman I had on earlier but I didn't think what I was listening to was that bad.

She said, and I quote "Can't you put on the Killers or something, that's so nerdy Mum"!

She's 7!, and this is the same child that was singing along to compare the Meerkats earlier.

I need a lie down.

I've tried Nirvana, that's a loud noise apparently, although she seems to like Depeche Mode and they are not uncool yet.....
Give it ten minutes and she'll change her mind.

I thought this was a teenage thing, she's 7 FFS 7!!!

DD's friend just said to me "Is that the old fashioned song one".
I'm old, clearly I just need to be put down or something. I'm 31
I thought I'd be a cool Mum knowing the original versions. But it would seem not
