Ok so joined talktalk approx 22mths ago at end of 18mth contract decided I wanted to change phone companies. This was hard because unbeknown to me talktalk do not return lines other than bt which are really dear for what I wanted. Eventually joined sky who gave me new number etc so told talktalk I was giving them 14 days notice on 19th February sky started my line rental on 3rd March so knew I would have to pay for 14 days notice till 6th March. I received Bill in February for feb/march they took whole ammount by direct debit contacted them and after major arguements got a refund for anything after 6th March got another bill now for 25/3 till 25/4 have rung them and they say I only have to pay till 31st March as that when they disconnected me am I being unreasonable to refuse? thank you if you have kept up with this

Sounds like a mix up - if they refunded the charges from 6th March onwards, they're trying it on if they expect you to now pay anything after that. Have you cancelled your direct debit to Talk Talk with your bank? If so, they shouldn't be able to take the money and you can just return the bill with a stinking complaint letter.

I hate talk talk because they keep calling throughout the day while DH is at work. and then hanging up when I answer. They want DH to try and flog him something and have decided they can't be bothered to leave a message via me. I wondered who it was, googled the number and hey presto loads of other people complaining about nuisance calls from Talk Talk. Feckers.

Agree - continue to argue. We had a similar think with AOL (who are owned by cpw/talk talk). In the end we had to submit a formal complaint to get our money back - but we did eventually.

it's n ever U to be annoyed with talktalk whatever they have done!

Lovemyshoes · 10/04/2009 13:28

Talktalk are shite. I had dealings with them in the past and NEVER AGAIN.

Sorry this isn't much help, but YANBU to be annoyed with them

It was leaving talktalk that left us with no phone line for 3 months. It's clear now why if they only return lines to bt. We were left with an "inactive" line which no one seemed able to activate again except bt. It took 3 months to arrive at that point... We did get £500 compensation by going to CICAS the abitration service though

thank you for your replies, kiddiz who are cicas had thought of ofcom but did not know any others only thing that worries me is when I left ntl 5 years ago I owed them 6p and was unaware and they put a default on my credit rating which screwed us up big time my credit rating is now excellent and don't want to screw it up
