To eat a slice of dh's birthday cake before he gets home tonight?

I made Mars' ldc for dh's birthday today. He won't get here till after 11.30pm (works away through the week) so should I wait? Or tuck in, just to check it's not burnt of course?

Wait of course - unless you can disguise missing piece . . .

There is a lesson to be learnt here, I think it is something along the lines of; never make a yummy cake for someone else (even if it would be shared later) without making yourself one too. Hmm, maybe you could strategically cut a slice in such a way that you can push the cake back together to hide the piece you have had . I happen to know this is possible, having resorted to this many times

Eat a slice...then eat another one...and a little bit more...

Then make him a new one

lol, loving these . Did think about scoffing the whole thing and carrying on with our original plan to celebrate tomorrow, but it's massive, not sure even I can manage it all.

You could trim the edges off all the way round, to 'make it look neat', and then dispose of the trimmings as you see fit!

Can you cut the bottom off it?
Scoff it, he'll never know.
