Road rage made me tremble

Hi there - Coming out of lurkdom again! Anyway, not sure about this. I was 'roadraged'yesterday outside my own house as I pulled over to park. The moron behind me obvioulsy hadn't seen me indicate and was about a milimeter away anyway, so nearly hit me. they hooted and screamed and this skanky looking teenage girl was screeching abuse at me. I was so upset I cried and cried and really upset my two (9 and 3) Was i just being silly and should expect this, or is it normal to feel unpset?

Not unreasonable at all. I had it recently, when I changed my mind about turning off at a roundabout - my fault, I know, and I waved a 'sorry' but this guy overtook me, slammed on his brakes right in front of me, drove really slowly for a bit, pulled over as if to park and then pulled out just as I went to pass him, accelerated away noisily, braked suddenly again etc... All that intimidating stuff.

I was still shaking (partly from anger, partly fear) when I arrived at work.

I have had quite a few incidents like this, it is totally not unreasonable to be shaken by it! Hope you are feeling calmer now.

You had a shock and it was unwarranted so don't feel silly at all.

I must admit sometimes I do swear back or give them the old 1 2-finger salute if I'm particularly aggrieved but I try to let it go most times. They'll come up against someone else as just nasty as them one day.

I went from being a sobbing wreck to wanting to find and kill them!

You poor thing - it's horrible behaviour and intimidating. I would have been in tears, too. Feeling shaky is normal and I hope you're feeling better now.

People can be real bastards on the road
