To have been getting really pissed off at sisters happiness?

So I got sky+ installed today. Only went for the basic package as I'm not a big TV watcher. £16 for the basic sky channels.

So my sister is sat there as I'm flicking through my new channels. I showed a slight disapointment at the fact that I don't have any of the documentary channels and she started going "Haha! we do, we have them all!" but then as I'm flicking through, everytime one came up that I couldn't view she shouted "We get that one!" or "Well, we have them all, even that one!"

I got to Kerrang! TV and that didn't work. I sighed and said "oh, I would have liked that" and a huge grin came on her face and she shouted "we have that one!! oh what a shame, you can't have that one! and you don't have Nick or Cartoon Network, we do!"

FFS... I don't mind a bit of playful "haha ours is better than yours" type thing but to go on and on and she was really, really happy that we couldn't get certain channels, even though the kids were clearly disapointed.

I know it's trivial but AIBU to have gotten annoyed with her?

Show her your bank statement and say "Haha! we have £80 a month more than you"

rubyslippers · 07/04/2009 18:02

HecAteTheEasterBunny · 07/04/2009 18:04

you don't mind a bit of playful "haha ours is better than yours" ?? really? I hope you don't do that, cos you should know that it's not playful, it's revolting.

She sounds a very silly person, tbh. I wouldn't have been annoyed, I'd have thought her pathetic.

Gorionine · 07/04/2009 18:05

LOL @ Nancy66!

ShyTalk · 07/04/2009 18:14

HecAte - too right. It is ruddy bad manners. Rude, ignorant and downright silly. If one takes a step back and has a think - to sit as a guest in someone else's house and crow about what you have that the host doesn't - fecking awful and unforgiveable, IMO.

MrsMagooo · 07/04/2009 18:40

ShowOfHands · 07/04/2009 18:42

Urgh! What a nightmare. Is she like this with things you actually give a toss about, too?

wannaBe · 07/04/2009 18:47

Get a grip.

It's television fgs.

Oh and

I have all the channels that you don't.

And it's all shite.
