to think littlewoods courier shouldn't just throw parcel over the back fence!

Ordered a new mobile phone to come tomorrow but it came this morning while I was at work.

The card said it had been left 'at rear of house'

Was a bit puzzled as to where because the back gate has a padlock on. Went out into the back garden and did eventually find the parcel, or rather the dog did.

It had been thrown over the 7ft back fence and had landed on the floor behind the shed!!!

It was wet from rain and I am a bit pissed off that the the courier thought it was reasonable to throw somebodies parcel over a 7ft fence!!!

differentEggD · 07/04/2009 16:14

Are you going to complain to the courier people?

differentEggD · 07/04/2009 16:25

Goodness yes- complain, complain, complain.

memoo · 07/04/2009 16:29

Her attitude was 'well it ain't broke so whats the problem'

bit of a shame really

funkybuddah · 07/04/2009 16:39

you dont know that it isnt broken, any amount of moisture can render a phone useless and unrepairable as a) it costs more to fix than to replace and b) it is progressive damage so where you might fix one bit another may go worng a month or a week later.

Water damage with feck your phone i would ask for a replacement to be sent TBH

EffieGadsby · 07/04/2009 16:44

Shame you've already called them about it - you could have pretended you hadn't received it (after all, they'd have no signature) so they would have had to send you another one. I don't advocate theft as such, but it seems hitting them where it hurts might be the only way to make companies stop using shitty delivery & courier firms who have no idea about good customer service.

YANBU. Which company do Littlewoods use to deliver? At my last place of work we had to have a Nintendo Wii and a PS3 delivered on two separate occasions. On both occassions they were bought from two different very well known companies. And on both occassions we received a card through the letterbox saying they had knocked (delivered at 7am, small office, no one in) and had left package in a secure location. Secure location 1/ Behind the big green wheelie bin in the car park at the back. Secure location 2/ at the side of the road/alley that leads to the car park at the back! The car park at the back had parking for a car parts broker (very dodgy), a law firm and a magazine publisher - nothing to do with us. We were not impressed!

Littlewoods use Home Delivery Network I believe.
One of the worst I've found for delivery is Parcelnet- I hate them. They are worse than Royal Mail.
