Ds is travelling on a school exchange to South Africa in July. He will be away for a couple of months, and as they have to change flights in either Cape Town or Johannesburg, he and the friend who will be going are thinking about spending 2 or 3 days in either of those cities.
We travelled to both last year - are aware of the fact that there are some dodgy areas - but are not paranoid about them! However, as they are only 17, our thoughts are that we should arrange for them to be collected at whatever airport, stay somewhere safe where they can walk around - but not ott expensive - and go on tours within a sort of 'package' that we have pre-arranged.
They are sensible kids, but I want to minimise the risk of anything going wrong.
Has anyone any ideas/contacts etc?
Many thanks!
