This evening the local kids decide to use the garage alleyway for football. They have not done this for ages and i'm so glad they didn't as they have been at my door this evening 3 times asking for the ball back and whilst i was trying to eat my dinner (7.30pm) another knock on the door.
One of the girls (aged 11-12) says that her shoe has flown off and landed on our flat garage roof.
Well, i did laugh at that but said sorry and said i would see if i could see it.
Tried to use ladder but it was locked up and my DH has the key anyway.
So basically told her i would look later as i had no way to get on the roof.
She then got all sullen and i was a bit pissed off as a) they had been disturbing me all the time i was trying to prepare dinner and b) now they expect me to do what they want when THEY want it.
Anyway, a few minutes later DH was back home with DD1 and DD2 and he got the key for the ladder.
I sat down to finish the rest of my dinner and then took the ladder out, only to find them outside trying to climb onto OUR roof WITHOUT our permission, they only had a silly steplader and could have hurt themselves really badly had it toppled.
Anyway, found the shoe on the roof and basically told them not to play around there as there may not be anyone in to get their ball or their shoes next time (as we'll be away).
Of course now i'm worrying about them coming into the garden whilst i'm away and wrecking the place as they are those kind of kids when they are bored.
My neighbour will have a key but she is out most of the day.
Better put up some anti-climb paint, but is that dangerous for cats?

Anyone have this kind of thing happening? Do you confiscate the balls?

We were out all day yesterday and today they are at it again. Having to go to the door and look for their ball yet again and this time they have damaged a pot in my garden.
AIBU if i confiscate their ball? Put a slow puncture in it?
