A young woman walking her dog, made no attempt to pick up after it shit right in the middle of the pavement. I stopped her and offered her a bag, she said "nah, you're alright", I said "well you aren't, you have to pick that up or i will phone the police" "go on then" She is lucky i didn't rub her nose in it!!! I called her all the festering bitches under the sun - but i get the feeling she just "wernt bovvard" Grrrrrrrrrrrr it makes me want to EXPLODE, the cheek of the bitch - i actually did grab her arm and try and walk her back, but thought bettter of it, didn't want to end up on an assault charge - I am SICK SICK SICK, of the filthy looks I get when i walk my dog, which i always pick up after, because of filthy bastards like this...

Life's too short to be worrying about dog shit dear. It is dirty, you are right, I remember dog poo going white and powdery when I was a child, I suppose it's all the preservatives that go in the food now though.

Seriously though, don't get your knickers in a twist over this. There's far worse things to worry about. Go and get yourself a vodka.

notnowbernard · 04/04/2009 19:26

Calm down, Dear

Yes it's infuriating but you sound full of rage. It can't be healthy for you

thelionmummy · 04/04/2009 19:26

ah, a wine will suffice

LadyOfScoffleTheEasterEggs · 04/04/2009 19:27

Wow, you grabbed her?

You are quite right to insist that she picks it up, but she certainly isn't the only one who doesn't in my experience. I home dogs, and always pick up after them but it amazes me that some people not only don't pick up but allow their dogs to foul in the middle of the pavement rather than pulling it to the side. I would also say that could all mothers teach their children that it is good to pick up poo after dogs as I can't tell you the amount of children who have stood and openly laughed at me whilst I am picking up the poo.

themoon66 · 04/04/2009 19:30

YABU if you think a torrent of abuse is ok. (Why does everyone seem so angry these days?)

thelionmummy · 04/04/2009 19:31

not grabbed exactly but "guided" her arm, i stopped as soon as i realised i was "touching" her uninvited . Is it wine o clock yet?

OP posts:

Numberfour · 04/04/2009 19:50

it's been wine o'clock for 4 hours .........

hercules1 · 04/04/2009 19:54

Dogs poo used to be white because of teh chalk they used to put in it. They arent allowed to add it anymore hence no white poo.

Dilettante · 04/04/2009 19:58

Some dog poos used to be white because they used to eat bones in ye olden days.

FluffyBunnyGoneBad · 04/04/2009 19:59

My mums dog eats bones, his poop isn't white. I'm sure it's the preservatives etc in the dog food.

thelionmummy · 04/04/2009 20:00

I miss white dog poo

OP posts:
Dilettante · 04/04/2009 20:02

Not white, but chalky looking. My dog has poo a bit chalky when she has bones, not so when she doesn't. But I don't doubt they used to put all sorts of crap in there.

God I can't believe I'm discussing dog shite on a Saturday night.

chocolateismyonlyweakness · 04/04/2009 20:03

I have posted on mumsnet before about my dh getting his jeans covered in dog poo after picking up my dd (she had it all over her wellies) and one time when she got it over her hand in a children's play area.

So lionmummy thank you for being a responsible dog owner, you got angry because you care.

MintyyAeroEgg · 04/04/2009 20:06

YANBU.

I can fully understand you being angry lionmum. What emotion would you say is acceptable in the face of this woman's behaviour moon66 - annoyed, irritated?

It is completely disgusting and inexcusable. OP has every right to be livid. I would be.

And yet I am not normally an angry person at all . I find it odd that you would suggest the op is in the wrong.

Dilettante · 04/04/2009 20:06

I agree, it totally infuriates me when people don't bag and bin their dog poo. It is totally disgusting. Most parks have designated bins and fellow dog walkers often carry extra bags, there is just no excuse.

thelionmummy · 04/04/2009 20:07

apparently dogs food has to be fit for human consumption - i wonder if they have people testing it???

OP posts:
nikkid21 · 04/04/2009 20:07

yanbu - we have one owner around the corner who never picks up and as it's on the route to scoll kids are always stepping in it.. A neighbour had enough last year . He followed the guy home one day to find out his address. Now the neighbour picks the poo up himself and then lobs the bag into the offenders front garden

thelionmummy · 04/04/2009 20:08

you should report him to the police, its a prosecutable offence

OP posts:
LackaDAISYcal · 04/04/2009 20:16

YANBU to be annoyed, but maybe came on a bit too strong and nutter-like

The way to school is littered with dog poo round here; most of it belonging to one skanky man and his shitty little poodle. I've only seen the dog do it the once, and asked the man, nicely, if he would clean it up and pointed out the signs on every lampost and he completely ignored me......so I followed him berating him for it and whinging about having to regularly clean it off the wheels of the pram ....to which he still ignored me....ignorant git

I am soooooo tempted to follow him (he lives around here somewhere), then collect all the poo and then dump it outside his house; see how he likes it.

But, I didn't ; I called the council and emailed my counsellor instead. They came and put more signs up......which are above head height on the lamposts, for health and safety reasons apparently , so no bugger even sees them)
