A young woman walking her dog, made no attempt to pick up after it shit right in the middle of the pavement. I stopped her and offered her a bag, she said "nah, you're alright", I said "well you aren't, you have to pick that up or i will phone the police" "go on then" She is lucky i didn't rub her nose in it!!! I called her all the festering bitches under the sun - but i get the feeling she just "wernt bovvard" Grrrrrrrrrrrr it makes me want to EXPLODE, the cheek of the bitch - i actually did grab her arm and try and walk her back, but thought bettter of it, didn't want to end up on an assault charge - I am SICK SICK SICK, of the filthy looks I get when i walk my dog, which i always pick up after, because of filthy bastards like this...

but leaving your dogs shit, probably infested with worms - believe me, she didn't look the sort to worm her dog - so could send a child BLIND if they touch it and then touch their eyes - is OK is it and i have explained, i didn't GRAB her, as such. I wish i HAD grabbed her and rubbed her stupid nose in it, her mate just stood there, i think she was embarrased for her.

hotcrossgroober, we have people here who spray the poo all sorts of colours AND put little flags in it they are quite "eccentric", me, im just a foul mouthed bint!

suddenly my dinner doesnt feel so appealing

JaquelinehydeAllTheEggs · 04/04/2009 21:28

The way it was dealt with was wrong but the OP's post was in the right place.

I walked down the road today with my 3 DC and in less than 100 meters we encountered 4+ piles of steaming dog poo.

Next time remain calm, ask her to pick it up, and if she refuses again like the vile creature she is. Then as suggested earlier take a pic of her and, post it round the neighbourhood (lamposts etc) warning everyone of her criminal poo activities

JaquelinehydeAllTheEggs · 04/04/2009 21:29

The OP's heart, heart not post

MissGreatBritain · 04/04/2009 21:41

You're not being unreasonable. I'm getting sick to the back teeth of irresponsible, rude, ignorant people who seem to think they can do exactly what they want and F**k everyone else. I blame Thatcher.

thelionmummy · 04/04/2009 21:42

I blame the parents

YANBU to be disgusted, but you're braver than me. I offered a bag to someone once, only to se them pick up & lob the bag in the hedge! Dog ownership has its pleasures and its responsibilities, eh?

My neighbour has three dogs & I've often noticed a steaming pile after she's gone by. The other day I bumped into her in the street while I was carrying a full poo bag (from my own ddg) and her dd asked me what it was - she'd obviously never seen her mother pick up. Disgusting - there's no excuse. It's education, I suppose, but you'd have thought everyone would know by now.

HedKandi · 04/04/2009 22:23

I blame Thatcher.

yep,

yanbu,

she is personally responsible,

all the dog shit in the land is clearly maggies doing

Idranktheeasterspirits · 04/04/2009 22:29

YABU, your behaviour makes you as bad as the dog owner.
Awful for your dd to step in dog shit, also just as awful for her to have to hear her mother calling someone "all the festering bitches under the sun".

faeriefruitcake · 04/04/2009 22:36

Good for you, I shouted at the couple who let their dog poo next to the dog poo bin and then walked away from it. They were also next to a children's play area. I kindly offered them a bag first then got

It can make children blind and any dog owner who leaves it deserves to have it smeared all over their property

fledtoscotland · 04/04/2009 22:39

i would report the owner to the dog warden. I've got two dogs and always pick up after them but in the next road this woman walks her dog off the lead and he always poos on my path. the laughs when i ask her to pick it up so i've spoken to the dog warden who has written to her advising her of the £1000 fine if she's caught. our local area has a 24hr team of dog wardens who patrol an area if complaints are made.

Piffle · 04/04/2009 22:42

Use your bag, pick it up give it to her
Saying excuse me think this is yours

MamaMaiasaura · 04/04/2009 22:50

yanbu but the fact that you expressed yourself in a 'colourful' way is bound to get some mumsnetters saying you did it wrong.

I personally totally understand the frustration and anger over dog shite and am sick of cleaning it off the buggy too.

I have also stopped dog owners who havent picked up and offered them nappy sack to pick it up. It was a teenage lad with his mates and he looked very embarrassed and did pick it up. I did say 'have you go any bags to pick that up with', his response 'nah, sorry i forgot', mine 'well here you are'. So no name calling there.. but I have shouted after ignorant dog owners who have left dog poo and completely ignored and refuesed to pick up.

Can i add that there is a lady near me with a dog and she is such a fab dog owner that she saw some slovenly ignorant pig of a dog owner had left shite on the path and she promptly picked it up. Good on her, I would have picked it up else, but didnt have a hand free at the time with a struggling 15 month old.

PrammyMammy · 04/04/2009 22:55

When i was walking to my mums the other week there was a GIANT one left on the pavement. I escorted ds round about it, holding his hand, and he dropped to his knees and tried to grab it. Must have looked interesting. I shouted and picked him up and carried him the rest.
Ds is 15 months btw and my mum only lives 2 streets away.

ninedragons · 05/04/2009 05:16

YANBU.

Some filthy bitch gave me the finger on Tuesday when I told her not to allow her dog to shit and then walk off.

I took her registration as she drove off and reported her to the park rangers. They came round on Friday to take an official statement and will fine her, because I said I'd go to court and testify if she contested it.

DeeBlindMice · 05/04/2009 07:24

Yay ninedragons!

Tryharder · 05/04/2009 08:37

That's fantastic, Ninedragons.. I wrote to my council complaining about the state of the local dog toilet children's park. I got a wishy washy reply. I could cope with dog shit on the roads but why are dogs even allowed in public parks? You would have thought with all the hooha about child obesity, the government would want to encourage children to run around the very few green spaces left in our towns. I don't let my son step foot on the grass in our park because there are piles of shit everywhere.

MissGreatBritain · 05/04/2009 09:28

HedKandi - you're missing the point. It's the ATTITUDE of people that's changed - the selfish, "I'll do what I like and sod everyone else" attitude that pervades in our society these days. A direct result of the "loadsamoney" days of the 1980s, for which Thatcher was directly responsible.

lottiejenkins · 05/04/2009 09:34

My wonderful late dh was gardening once and happened to look over the hedge at the front of the house in time to see a man let his dog do a poo on the grass next to the pavement, the man didnt know my dh was watching and went to walk away without picking it up.......... my dh then said in a very loud voice(made the guy jump) "I DO HOPE YOU ARE GOING TO PICK THAT UP, YOU WERENT GOING TO LEAVE IT THERE WERE YOU??" The guy then hastily got a beautifully laundered white handkerchief out of his pocket and picked the poo up in it and scuttled away looking suitablly chastened! My husband was very pleased with himself!!

chequersmate · 05/04/2009 19:28

For the purposes of the record, children don't go blind because they touch dog poo and rub their eyes.

It's caused by ingesting the pooh (well, ingesting soil that has had old, infected dog pooh in it for many, many weeks).

ShyTalk · 05/04/2009 19:47

My DD says that folks who don't pick up dog poop voluntarily should be made to pick it up with their bare hands (she has in mind an elaborate test (fantasy) involving dog DNA) and dispose of it under supervision.
Irony - walking over a grassed area to collect your own dog's doings and stepping in uncollected shit which gets ingrained into the treads of your walking boots - yeeuw.
