Going to magaluf on a hen weekend for 3 nights, am looking forward to it and dd 4 knows i am going away with the girls and seems ok about it, but now the fears are setting in - Will she be ok? What would happen if something happened to me? Oh god why do we feel so guilty about things

yanbu
give yourself a break woman and get a grip
I've been going away for long girlie weekends since my first was 9 months!

She'll be fine. You'll be fine. Just bring her back a present, and go and enjoy yourself.

She'll be fine and worse than that you'll be back before you know it, and your weekend away will be a memory, so go and enjoy!

and def bring back a small pressie for her

Ronaldinhio · 04/04/2009 13:28

do it

maybe not magaluf though

BCNS · 04/04/2009 13:31

go for it, I do when I get the chance.. bring a pressy back.

you'll have a great time and all will be fine with dd.

Simplysally · 04/04/2009 13:35

She'll be fine and you're only a phone call away for goodnights and so on. I've had lots some trips away without my dd. You'll feel better for the break and she'll get a nice pressie.

muggglewump · 04/04/2009 13:45

She'll be fine.
I left DD with a friend (very good friend who DD saw daily) for 3 nights when she was 4 to go to a Grand Prix, and then twice the following year for four nights, and then 6 nights.

I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Don't have anyone to leave her with now though, or any money come to think of it.

smellen · 04/04/2009 13:49

At four she's probably old enough to understand the concept of you going somewhere without her, and coming back in "3 sleeps" or summat like that. As long as she's being left with another responsible adult with whom she has a good relationship, then you should go and have a great time.

And when you get back, you'll be so pleased to see her, it'll be like another holiday all over again.
