To wish I had this woman's life instead?!

Found out that a woman at work has told my colleagues 'I'm going to have to speak to the boss about Tess' tops, they are far too low cut'
My boss has not said anything to me yet but I have noticed him look a couple of times so I need to prepare myself.
My background is that I am three weeks away from mat leave, going to be single so money v tight and it is fairly well known that I am wearing other peoples maternity clothes as I cannot afford a new wardrobe. My breasts have grown huge and short of polo necks nothing I wear seems to cover them up although I don't think my tops are too bad.
This woman lives at hme rent free and spends a fortune on herself....and clearly has few things to worry about if she has the time to comment on my attire...

Are you dressing inappropriately?

Your colleague's home life has no bearing on whether you adhere to a company dress code

You can arrange a cheap scarf decorously if you wish

Jealousy I reckon. Ignore Ignore Ignore! You only have 3 weeks left. God some people are pathetic aren't they?

nickschick · 04/04/2009 10:15

What is the nature of your employment?

tessofthedurbervilles · 04/04/2009 10:16

No I am not! I wear big maternity bras that are covered under my top...if I was that scantily dressed people would see them...

Poor you, this woman is just being a bitch.
I think your boss will see her complaining says more about her then you.

Eve4Walle · 04/04/2009 10:40

Ignore it, especially as you are only 3 weeks away from your maternity leave.

She's probably just jealous that your boobs are so gloriously large at the moment.

HecAteTheEasterBunny · 04/04/2009 10:43

pre-empt it by bringing it up in general onversation - complaining about your wardrobe and how tight and uncomfortable your clothes are but how, with the baby coming, you can't afford to buy any that are more comfortable so you are having to make do the best you can.

that way they'll feel bastards if they have a go at you

LauriefairycakeeatsCupid · 04/04/2009 10:58

I too have giant norks and am finding that all v-necks I buy are really quite low so I'm wearing very inexpensive camisoles underneath. You could pick up a couple for £2 in Primark or somewhere like that and wear them to death.

Not that you have to you understand, she could just fuck off and stop being so bitchy. But I thought I'd offer a tiny practical solution as well

pramspotter · 04/04/2009 11:07

She is being an ignorant cow. I am sure you look nice Tess.

poshsinglemum · 04/04/2009 11:31

She's a looser. Ignore it!

LouMacca · 04/04/2009 11:35

What a cow! What difference does it make to her life? Does she have a life? - obviously has too much time on her hands.

MrsWeasley · 04/04/2009 11:36

I think she is attracted to you and can't take her eyes off of your lovely boobs.

She had told the boss because she fears someone has noticed her stares and will report her!

tessofthedurbervilles · 05/04/2009 08:41

Ha ha I might start tugging my tops down and rubbing them and saying 'ooooh its so hot in here, god I feel hot...mmm I love feeling hot'
Might as well give the snidey cow something to really moan about!
I just wish I had the time and energy to even notice what other people do!
