To go out as it's now 2pm and British Gas have not turned up?

We booked an appointment to have our boiler serviced between 10am-2pm today and there's no sign of them.

I've had e-mail confirmation and a text reminder that it's booked for these times today.

I've got 101 things to do this afternoon and could really do with getting on with them.

As they've not contacted me to say they're running late, AIBU to go out now?

Phone them up and see where they are first. Do tell them you have a life that does not include having to wait in for them all day though.

I would give it another half hour yet......there might be a Very Good Reason for a man to run late.

YANBU. But you may regret it if BG turn up later and you have to make another apt and have to wait indoors another day.

I called them - he was due to be with me about 3pm!! I'm glad I bookd a slot between 10-2!

I told them them I did have a life outside of my house and that I'd have to rebook - to which the chap replied,"but that's only 3/4 hour MrsIWIWMC!" - cheeky sod!

Anyway I've rebooked for a couple of weeks time and have got a 2 hour slot now, instead of a 4 hour one! Let's hope they can manage to get here on time net time.

Do they still pay you £50 if they don't turn up????

I've no idea - never heard of that!

Think I'll check the website to see if it mentions it!
