To phone/text my friend and ask her if she is coming for lunch today OR NOT?

Yesterday i texted a friend to see if she wanted to come for a cuppa and our girls to play. She was busy and her DD at playschool so she said maybe today? I said, yeah, great, maybe i could do them some lunch - but she has not replied yet.

i have nothing in for lunch and i dont want to rush about uneccesarily as i would probably go to a cafe with my mum if friend wasn't coming.

My friend is a bit rubbish about answering texts, and i have often wondered if i push the friendship a little. I would ordinarily just leave it but i don't want to upset her because she is pregnant, has a uterine bleed and at high risk of miscarraige - another reason why she might not have texted if she has felt poorly.

I don't want to put her under pressure to come, but i don't want her to arrive and i hvae nothing organised - can't really afford to get stuff in for lunch if it wont be eaten.

oh what to do, what to do???

Why don't you just pick up the phone and call her?

Just get some stuff for a really simple lunch eg bread and cheese, yoghurts, apples that won't get wasted if she doesn't come.
And then leave it.

phone her. "Hi, just wanted to see how you're feeling....."

thelionmummy · 03/04/2009 09:19

because that would be far to easy!! lol

really though, i don't want to pressurise her, she is a people pleaser iyswim. I always find it much easier to decline offers by text, im shit by phone or face to face

Stop obsessing and second guessing and pick up the phone Don't be pushy, just say "just checking how you're feeling, do you fancy meeting up if you're up to it?" then that gives her a way to say no if she's not well.
