ok fair eough we all have things we like spending money on, a friend of ours has brought a bottle for his 40th birthday.

i know its a special occasion and all but it just seems almost immoral to me.

hahahah.. this thread has made me laugh.. loads of people saying oh its his money and if it makes him happy etc etc

lets put it another way what would you all say if your dh or ds (of legal age) came home and said I've spent £12,000 on a bottle of wine.. bet it wouldnt be well so long as you are happy or its your money

I think its crazy conisidering what he earns .. if he earned £750k a year, had a wine cellar it might be a more reasonable purchase

but yanbu.. this is just madness

I just think that whoever sold it to him saw him coming and is still laughing loudly. It's just redistributed a bit of money from the poser to the rip off merchant. In the grand scheme of things it doesn't really make a difference which of them has the money does it?

Hmm! His money and his choice I know but I know a Mum struggling to find the cash to pay for a wheelchair that her DC needs so I find huge amounts of money spent on something as frivolous as this fairly galling. My problem I know.
