My partner had his daughter christened at the age of 9 and started taking her to church school once a week, simply to get her into a catholic secondary school. I remember saying to him when he told me "so, are you Catholic then?" and he said "sort of, a non practicing Catholic I suppose".
He kept asking me what I was. I always said Athiest (which is true). He said "if you get the kids christened and take them to church school, you'll get them in (good secondary school). I said "But we're athiests" he replied "so am I, but I still did it"
Anyway, I've been reading up a lot on Buddhism. It interests me greatly, not that I'm a believer of course ... I just find Buddhism more interesting than the other religions and like to learn about it. DP found this out and also started reading up on Buddhism. He said last night "You're so right, Buddhism does make more sense than the other religions! I think I'm Buddhist/Pagan" I think he expected me to say "I'm Buddhist too" but I replied "Well, I'm still Athiest" he then backtracked and said "actually, I'm more of a believer in nature, earth and it's animals"
