New neighbours

New neighbours have moved in, I think today. We haven't met them yet. They appear to be having a party. Lots of whooping and party poppers and not too loud music. I am getting ready for bed now. How late do I have to put up with it? Really don't want to be a party pooper and dp isn't home so I can't send him round!

Is it best to just grin and cope tonight and see if this is just a one off?

yes, let it go, It's Saturday night. When you meet them, tell them you heard them celebrating and hope they had a good time, then if they are reasonable, they will think about how much noise they made...

I hope it's a one off! On the first night! That is a bit off really.Specially if they didn'tt call round to let you know.

Maybe don't complain tonight. Wait to see if it happens again, unless you're still being keppt up at 3 am.

Thank you. You are a total voice of reason! God I hate the sound of bass music when you can't actually hear the song though!

they're clearly havign a moving in doo aren't they? Let them get on with it and wait til the 3rd party before whining

Somebody did knock on the door earlier but I was in the bath and I don't let the dds open the door unless we know who it is. Perhaps it was one of them coming to warn us?

Or maybe to invite you?

janeite · 28/03/2009 23:37

Doubt it KHS - it sounds like it's just a group of young men round there!

get a babysitter and rock up in your party frock with a bottle of wine??

scrooged · 28/03/2009 23:39

Would you like to swap neighbours? Mine are outside (the gardens are very small so I hear it all) every weekend in the summer having small party's, I hear them argue once a week, open and slam doors every morning etc.

janeite · 28/03/2009 23:41

We once lived next door to a couple of male students who frequently had parties until 3.00 in the morning and then banged on the walls in the middle of the night when dd2 (about six weeks old at the time) cried! Grrr!

I'm ure they've been playing the same song for the last three hours!

Maybe I could go round with wine AND a decent CD or two?!

Rummage around for some ear plugs and forget it for now-I'm still from asking my neighbours to keep it down around 3am - indignatly ignorant of course of the fact that is was new years eve 1999...
