for not lending me her NCT members card to get in to the sale early tomorrow, even if she's not going, because I'm not a member and she thing's its 'wrong'?

Seriously, I am pissed off but maybe I'm over reacting/being cheeky in asking? I really don't know

My first instinct is that YABU. NCT is a charity, and your friend paid for that membership. You didn't. Why should you get an unfair advantage over other non-members?

join

WinkyWinkola · 27/03/2009 22:48

It's wrong.

Buy your own membership.

trixymalixy · 27/03/2009 22:49

I think you are being a bit unreasonable and a bit cheeky to ask.

It is wrong because you haven't paid membership so are not entitled to go. It's even worse because the NCT is a charity.

BitOfFun · 27/03/2009 22:50

I think that people just have different attitudes, fair enough. It isn't fair though to ask her to do something that goes against her personal values and makes her uncomfortable.

i would be cross too,
she is your best friend,
does that count for nothing:?>?

oranges · 27/03/2009 22:58

don't speak to her ever again, its definitely worth ending a friendship over this.

tiggerlovestobounce · 27/03/2009 23:02

You are over reacting IMO.

BouncingTurtle · 27/03/2009 23:04

Some of the sales you can't use your membership card to get in early. I know one of the ones I volunteer at we don't allow anyone to get in early because it is so busy

evansmummy · 27/03/2009 23:09

yeah ok i get the picture

i just figured if i had an advantage that i was able to share with a friend, then i would. it's not like i'm cheating the NCT out of money, it's only for getting in early and nothing to do with getting a discount. oh well, i guess i must be wrong!

sadly it's the most recent in a long line of things she's done to upset me, so i guess i was over sensitive anyway.

thanks. i feel silly now. i'll post on here before i send a snotty text time ( again)

I would of asked my bf to use her card if she wasnt going. And I know she would say yes.

But YABU to react in this way.

MichaelaS · 28/03/2009 01:39

YABU IMO it is wrong - I know it seems like a fairly small thing but it's a matter of principle. it's not her advantage to give to you, it's the NCT's. She's paid to be a member, and she should abide by the rules. In theory, how is this morally different from lending someone your passport?

sorry, sounds a bit harsh but I think it's the same in theory... plus it's late and my tact seems to have gone on the blink...

knockedgymnast · 28/03/2009 22:30

I can see why you felt put out. She wasn't your friend, she was your best friend. Perhaps if the situation was reversed, you know you would have lent her your card.

I also think she was being petty but then again, they don't 'make' best friends like they used to!!
