I 'm not after presents or anything but a card wouldn't have killed them.

I know he was only 1 but I keep mementoes like cards and stuff, so I think it was pretty shitty!!!

Am I being unreasonable?

it sound awful but sometimes if you dont do anything to draw attention to his birthday like a tea party or something a lot of people dont remember.

oldcrock · 27/03/2009 18:15

I don't think the children really notice, but I think aunts and uncles ought to remember - my brother usually forgets, but tbh dd1 never notices or comments. He usually makes up for it later though when he next sees her.

MammyINeedAWee · 27/03/2009 18:15

We did have a tea party though, at 3pm, we left messages on their answerphones and they never got back to us

That does sound pretty hopeless

Do they have children themselves?

Bumperlicioso · 27/03/2009 18:29

Did your mum not remind them (if she is around?). The only way my bro and sis remember these things is through her.

sweetcat · 27/03/2009 18:31

Aw, that's a shame. I would be annoyed in your position.

edam · 27/03/2009 18:31

that's a real shame.

DesperateHousewifeToo · 27/03/2009 18:33

My dcs aunts and uncles remember eventually. Doesn't really bother me as I know they are all busy and have 'stuff going on'.

The dcs don't notice either

Bumperlicioso · 27/03/2009 18:39

Did you mention it to them recently?

mrsleroyjethrogibbs · 27/03/2009 18:41

it hurts does'nt it?
Try not to let it worry you. At least you were there to celebrate it

pigleto · 27/03/2009 18:44

I am always late with birthday pressies. I am a crap aunty, but I love them all really.

MammyINeedAWee · 27/03/2009 19:21

Thanks girls - - I know, in the big scheme of things it doesn't matter really!!

But yeah, they all have older kids so they know.
We don't have a great relationship with DH's family (but don't get me started on that LOL) at least his parents turned up to the party even if MIL did hide!!
