I know I'm not... flipping "blustery" ie irritating, wind. Knocked all my pots over in the garden and destroyed a fair few, every time I go out my hair's all over the place whipping in my face, I can't go 100 yards without getting a drenching from a downpour, only to go another 100 yards and be sweltering in bright sunshine. And to top it all yesterday a tree branch hit me in the face and scratched my eyeball, and now it's badly infected! Grrrrrr!

Share your weather woe here!

Ow, the tree branch sounds particularly unpleasant!!!

I was going to take my horse for a long ride today, but we ended up not going so far as the weather kept changing. Not complaining though really, I like weather

fleurlechaunte · 27/03/2009 13:36

Where do you live HeadFairy? I love the wind but my autistic ds absolutely hates it, is all too much for him, all the noise and blowing and things falling over, really stresses him out.

I hate damp, rainy, shivery weather, neither here nor there, not really raining but shivery and damp when you go out. I feel irritable as soon as I step out into it.

It is very windy in Edinburgh and it is pissing me off. Don't know why I bothered brushing my hair this morning.

HeadFairy · 27/03/2009 14:38

shineon!! Not that kind of wind.

Fleur, I'm in south London. I'm with your ds... I get irritated with my hair whipping around, I get irritated by my coat flapping open, I just get irritated!

My one shoe was nearly blown off. I'm with you on this. It's mental.

ByTheSea · 27/03/2009 14:50

We are redecorating and DH had stripped the wallpaper off DS1's bedroom wall. He obviously didn't put in in tightly enough closed binbags as when I got home yesterday afternoon, there were pieces of wallpaper blowing all over the back garden. I had to chase quite a bit of it around getting it picked up. Argghhh. I'm on the north Essex coast BTW.

WowOoo · 27/03/2009 14:51

Meant to be going for bike ride this weekend but not in this weather. Bugger it!

WowOoo · 27/03/2009 14:52

Hope your eye gets better soon Headfairy. That sounds really nasty. How do you disinfect an eye? Salt water? Ouch.

ThePellyandMe · 27/03/2009 14:52

YANBU

I'm fed up with looking like I've been dragged through a hedge 5 minutes after walking out the front door.

I dry and straighten my frigging hair, do the school run and come back looking like I've been plugged in to the national grid.

bleh, how did your shoe nearly get blown off? That experience has eluded me so far in life.

HeadFairy · 27/03/2009 15:00

How on earth does the wind blow off your shoe? It must be realllly windy there bleh!

Wowooo thanks for concern re my eye... I'm off to the docs in a moment because the antibiotic drops aren't working and it's getting worse. It's completely closed up now and if I prise the lids apart my eye is the colour of an angry baboons arse!

I was walking along, wearing ballet slippers, the heel slipped down a bit, then there was a giant gust of wind, and it nearly got blown off. It was very bizarre. Has never happened to me before either.

SerendipitousHarlot · 27/03/2009 15:33

Oh I thought I was the only one to be irritated by this

It drives me crazy and puts me in a really bad mood. All the things you have all mentioned, plus it makes me irrationally unsettled emotionally. I can't explain it.

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 27/03/2009 15:39

It makes terrible 'wooh woooooooh' noises on the soffits outside DD2's room and makes her scared.

It makes my already mad hair madder and more bag-lady-like.

It whips the dog up into a frenzy of slit-eyed barking everytime she goes outside.

It blows my top up, revealing my naked pregnant bump for all to see .

I hope your eye gets better soon - that sounds blimmin' painful.

meltedmarsbars · 27/03/2009 15:42

I love it - brilliant sunshine one moment and thunderous clouds the next, scudding across the blue sky, the bare trees bending in the distance - great from my sofa!

A bit parky when you get out there though.

PlumBumMum · 27/03/2009 15:43

Yeap my bloomin washing nearly blew away

BackToBasics · 27/03/2009 15:45

I was cleaning up my car that is on ebay to sell. I opened the car door, a big gust of wind blew and the car door smacked against the wall and made a small dent

My instant thought was "fecking wind"

I hate it, even more then rain!

stickylittlefingers · 27/03/2009 15:54

YANBU it makes my ears hurt if I haven't remembered my hat.

SobranieCocktail · 27/03/2009 15:56

I had to rescue a mitten from the canal today. Grr. DD shouted loudly at the wind to "get on the naughty cloud".

HeadFairy · 27/03/2009 16:05

That's bizarre bleh

think yourselves lucky, I moaned about it this morning, only to get a weather lecture from DH about the mad march wind

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 27/03/2009 19:12

DS's nursery newsletter blew out of his hand as we left today (though I'm sure we won't miss much)

The last couple of days when I've been out my hair has become Amy Winehousesque because it pours with rain, then gets sunny so it goes frizzy, then the wind whips it into a birdsnest.
