Cant help it
The thought that there are intelligent, funny, non-sleazy men out there who have masses in common with me....

It just gives me hope

And he's a regular poster on MN too.

OP posts:
potatofactory · 26/03/2009 18:57

I definitely had a crush-feeling about UQD when he posted on a thread I had started sigh!!

He sounded so reasonable

SimpleAsABC · 26/03/2009 19:00

Having read the whole post now can I just say, I am disapointed the OP wasn't dadinsteadofmum? Now that, and not some of the remarks would have been interesting!

morningpaper · 26/03/2009 19:01

I googled him once when he outed himself, he seemed very tasty

KayHarkerIsPlayingWithMitchell · 26/03/2009 19:04

MP, there's a black and white glamour shot that's quite nice.

solidgoldbrass · 26/03/2009 19:05

I have a sort of sibling fondness for UQD when he gets to kicking arse on a faith-schools or woo&bollocks thread, I must say.

bettany · 26/03/2009 19:05

hope he outs himself again.

cornsilk · 26/03/2009 19:08

Also have performed the UQD google.

ABetaDad · 26/03/2009 19:14

charitygirl - quite right too. I am a bit of a speciality interest.

FAQing - steady on there, you don't know how small a group you are in.

[Quietly wonders whether the Pig Fondling confession might have been a step too far.]

ScottishMummy · 26/03/2009 19:15

i dont like any gushy who is your faveourite MNetter thread too crawly bum lick

cornsilk · 26/03/2009 19:19

Now now scottish mummy - keep your fantasies about UQD to yourself please.

KayHarkerIsPlayingWithMitchell · 26/03/2009 19:20

It's not quite a fave MNer thread though.

It's more a 'Would your disembodied computer personality schtup this other disembodied computer personality'

There's not been too many of that kind of thread on MN, really.

SlightlyMadScotland · 26/03/2009 19:24

Nah....you all have it wrong.

MrVibrating is the one you want

MrsGuyOfGisbourne · 26/03/2009 19:31

yes, what kind of weird man would spend so much time on Mumsnet? His posts always conjure up an image of a bearded northerner with a chip on his shoulder about rich southerners who can afford to send their Dc to independent schools - secretly yearns to himself if only had a proper job with a decent income. Cleans car very Sunday and religiously clears gutters and trims overhaning branches in case some one slips falleden leaves. Wears woolly cardigans and nylon trousers, is totally asexual, who fusses and frets, works in local government ( IT/SS or H&S) and attends a lot of 'meetings' where you get free pens. And whose wife is having it off with a politically incorrect person she has met thru' her own work (in local gvt naturally.. Could be wrong of course...

StealthPolarBear · 26/03/2009 19:32

retiredgoth always makes me laugh and wonder

  • has he retired from gothness? Or is he a goth who is retired?
ScottishMummy · 26/03/2009 19:34

i'd get more animated about gives great cunnilingus and bangs like a barn door dad

just a thought

daftpunk · 26/03/2009 19:36

lol @ MrsGuyofGisbourne....i'd say you were spot on!

SlightlyMadScotland · 26/03/2009 19:40

i HAD NEVER REALISED THAT RETIRED GOTH WAS A HE....

StealthPolarBear · 26/03/2009 19:44

It is strange when you find out. I assume MNers are female until told otherwise and have an image of them in my head. Pan was a shock!

solidgoldbrass · 26/03/2009 20:29

I once knew someone called Pan who was a he but had a successful writing career with a female pen name. (If that's you, Pan-the-MNer, which I doubt, of course then: Oooh, hello! We once had a fascinating drunken squabble discussion at a book launch.)

SexyDomesticatedDad · 27/03/2009 09:35

In two minds about posting and whether or not to go incognito on this thread - but stayed with what I post as usually.

So are all men that post on MN weird?? I don't think I've ever posted on the dadsnet part at all!!

Do you think the mainly women MNers then just scare us men off? The discussions then don't get any sort of balance.

I'm sure lots of men secretly read womens magazines like Cosmo (I know I did and its good for picking up all those tips to use in later life ). Does that make us more or less desirable to try to understand the inner thoughts of women (not that we ever really will) - same as on here women want advice about men problems but you need a mans perspective sometimes.

I'm off to do my DIY, hang out the washing and then bake a few cakes - and keep fingers crossed about new job.

Threadworm · 27/03/2009 09:48

I didn't go to an all-girls school. When I was at university women were outnumbered 5:1, and I was once a member of a higher-education institute nearly exclusively male -- some of whose members truly thought that women ought not to be allowed.

So when I found Mumsnet, the gunaikeion(sp) of the internet, it was the first time I'd been in a woman's environment, where women set the tone.

For that reason (although it is unfair of me, I know I know) I resent the presence of men and would very slightly prefer them to go away. Of course it is a parenting website, so they should be allowed to post specifically on parenting issues. But they shouldn't be allowed to buy their own drinks at the bar, or join the management committee.

SerendipitousHarlot · 27/03/2009 09:51

Blimey, do people really get annoyed that men post here? I don't mind at all!

hullygully · 27/03/2009 09:56

Aren't we all human beings after all, can't re just relate to each other on that basis without worrying about gender? At least if we can't see each other it gets rid of 90% of the nonsense.

Burst into: I'd like to teach the world to sing etc

SerendipitousHarlot · 27/03/2009 09:58

A great big melting pot, eh hullygully?

hullygully · 27/03/2009 09:59

A great big old love fest. That's what we need more of. Flower, anyone?
