Cant help it
The thought that there are intelligent, funny, non-sleazy men out there who have masses in common with me....

It just gives me hope

And he's a regular poster on MN too.

Gateau - you come across as a rude stirrer who makes the ultimate mistake of dragging your predjudices onto another thread.

If you don't like what someone is saying, at least have the good manners and guts to say so on the relevant thread.

And there are plenty of women posters who are also arrogant and rude - do you see yourself in there?

ScottishThistle · 31/03/2009 09:44

I wish I had the patience to read all 17 pages, thanks for the entertainment ladies and men of course!

Nothing like a bit if innocent flirting, probably stops them (men & women)from doing it in the real world!

Gateau · 31/03/2009 09:45

Nope, Rhubarb, I don't see myself in there, but I certainly see you.
"who makes the ultimate mistake". We're on MN; we're not talking global peace talks.
Get a life.

Rhubarb · 31/03/2009 09:49

Sod off shit stirrer!

BigGitDad · 31/03/2009 09:58

DP, get yourself back on that music thread with your crap 90's songs.Believe me life's too short. (Actually, Life's what you make it!)
ABetadad, I use the 'chunking' method for hearing. It is often complainwed that I am not listening to DW but actually I am selecting what I need to hear...
Of course my memory is shite which is why I can never remember which bits I heard...

georgimama · 31/03/2009 10:00

Are you ladies joshing or is this getting nasty? I can never tell.

BigGitDad · 31/03/2009 10:00

DP I do however think you ought to apologise to 2shoes as telling her to piss off was not nice.

BigGitDad · 31/03/2009 10:02

I love MN when a jokey thread ends up in a good slanging match bust up. It is really what it is all about...

Threadworm · 31/03/2009 10:05

I can see that bust up would be good. Less need for eyes to go down.

Gateau · 31/03/2009 10:05

Ouch; you're so incisive.
Run along; back to the playground with you.

daftpunk · 31/03/2009 10:16

Gateau....what are you doing??

Gateau · 31/03/2009 10:19

going back to my work. Too busy for this crap.
I actually agree with yor initial remark, DP. That it's dodgy for a man to spend so much time on mumsnet. Well, not dodgy. Sad.

FelineOk · 31/03/2009 10:23

DaftPunk have not learned yet? Do NOT Feed the trolls.

pellmell · 31/03/2009 10:23

daftpunk-you can kick me in the fanjo with your big dm's if you want but ...... I want to give you one of those dead-arm style whollops follwed by a playful hug and pat on the back. You silly sausage!!!!

daftpunk · 31/03/2009 10:24

Gateau isn't a troll..is she?....i'm sure i've seen her around loadsa

HuwEdwards · 31/03/2009 10:24

Gateau you are mad as a box of frogs and come across a tad bitter and twisted

and from daft punk "does no one understand me...even a little bit? "

I don't, not one scrap.

daftpunk · 31/03/2009 10:24

plus she agrees with me...i like her!

Gateau · 31/03/2009 10:25

NO, I ain't a troll.
I disagree with the vast majority on here, as usual, that's all. If that makes me a troll, then so be it.

DadInsteadofMum · 31/03/2009 10:30

BGD its called parallel processing the ability to appear to be in a conversation but only listen out for certain key phrases (e.g. do you think it looks good, it didn't cost much etc) and having the ability when challenged to repeat the last thirty seconds.

Having been watching this thread since I was name checked earlier on I will now jump in with both feet (and almost certainly regret it).

I come on here because as a single dad I appreciate the huge reservoir of knowledge and experience that I can tap into (and desperately need).

2shoes I can't comment on the other blokes but the reason you may not have bumped into me is because I only look at/post to a very few threads, either because I am looking for advice or I have specific knowledge/expertise and don't wish to sound off at random about stuff I know nothing about (carefully looks at shoes and nobody else at all) and whilst I am very aware taht this behaviour completely contradicts my RL behaviour it is out of respect that this is a female dominated site.

And for the same reason I incluse Dad in my name just to make it clear who I am.

daftpunk · 31/03/2009 10:34

pellmell...lol, i'd kill you!

PadDad · 31/03/2009 10:35

Interesting how many of us say we identify our gender in our nicknames 'out of respect'.

And yet it certainly seems to aid those who want to slag us off because of our gender.

Threadworm · 31/03/2009 10:37

I think it is valuable, though, that men identify their gender in their name. The default assumption is that you are talking to a woman on here. And I wouldn't want to make filthy jokes to a man (prude that I am).

UnquietDad · 31/03/2009 10:44

Hmm, bit of an unfounded hit-and-run insult from Gateau.

IorekByrnison · 31/03/2009 10:48

"Selecting what I need to hear"... "parallel processing"? What a pile of horseshit masquerading as a justification for NOT LISTENING PROPERLY.

Who said there was no such thing as a "male" style of debating?

2shoes · 31/03/2009 10:49

intersting that all the rude people on this thread arn't men
