I have noticed these last few months there seems to be an attitute on mumsnet of

"if I can't have it I don't want anyone else to have it either"

It's just that I would miss the nanny -and- au-pair- sleeping- with- husband threads. They are my favourite and my best.

hullygully · 26/03/2009 13:40

I have a lunch date now, but if anyone is interested...

theyoungvisiter · 26/03/2009 13:40

truly never noticed that attitude.

And god knows, there are loads of "attitudes" on MN of all different kinds, but I can honestly say that what you describe has never struck me.

Can you give some concrete examples of what you mean?

wasabipeanut · 26/03/2009 13:40

BitofFun - you aren't so sure now are you?

peachyfox · 26/03/2009 13:41

Could we call the other one bums.net?

TrillianAstra · 26/03/2009 13:41

AIBU to object to people saying 'Mumsnet has changed: it is now much more X, Y, and Z than it used to be'

smallorange · 26/03/2009 13:41

No you are really taking the piss Hully. Are you?

Curiousmama · 26/03/2009 13:41

What if one of the mumswithmore left her dh and ended up single and not so wealthy. Oh that was me,am on IS now but much happier.

Lizzylou · 26/03/2009 13:42

The leftovers once the rich and fragrant have departed could be "Hunsnet"

pagwatch · 26/03/2009 13:42

no one who really has any money buys at Boden. That is aspiring middle classes territory only. It is a ...... .. catalogue [shudder emoticon]

hullygully · 26/03/2009 13:42

I was thinking of net.wealth, it shows a healthy sense of humour around the whole prickly issue, something lacking in the fiscally challenged dare I say!

wasabipeanut · 26/03/2009 13:42

Not Scumsnet????

Lizzylou · 26/03/2009 13:43

Rofl at "Fiscally Challenged"

theyoungvisiter · 26/03/2009 13:43

[kicks off my £450 Jimmy Choos, displaying perfectly manicured toe-nails lovingly lacquered by my Latvian au pair earlier this morning, and sips from crystal flute of Veuve Clicquot]

hullygully · 26/03/2009 13:44

Boden???? Good lord.

morningpaper · 26/03/2009 13:45

I think we need a new rule where if you mis-spell the thread title then you are automatically VERY UNREASONABLE and we are allowed to give you a good kicking

wasabipeanut · 26/03/2009 13:45

Go on then Hully set the bar - what does ones DH's net wealth have to be before one can apply?

ScumdogSquillionaire · 26/03/2009 13:46

I've got a sneaking suspicion you lot aren't taking me seriously - oh never mind, I was just having a moan really.

Curiousmama · 26/03/2009 13:46

Even when i had it I still shopped in, dare I say it.... charity shops

Never shopped at Boden or even looked. Dp did the other day and liked one of the shirts but doubt he'll buy it?

Hully go for it I bet there are plenty that would join you? And you don't have to exclusively be on there you can be post us too

After all there are different types of dating sites...some for richer...some for good looking only....etc...So why not parenting sites?

VinegarTitsSmellsTrolls · 26/03/2009 13:47

Can i join Hullys group, just ordered a rather expensive gift to myself and want to brag

But i am not joining if you have the word 'boden' in it

Rhubarb · 26/03/2009 13:47

I hated the Mothers Day thread that was started by someone who was sad that her dh and kids wouldn't make an effort for her. Others having similar sad days contributed and then you got ones who went in and posted about what a wonderful day they were having, with meals out and flowers and extravagant gifts etc.

I had to stop myself from posting some stern words on that one.

peachyfox · 26/03/2009 13:47

you need to log on to glums.net Squillionnaire..
Sorry you're having a bad day.

Rhubarb · 26/03/2009 13:47

See scumdog - I take you seriously!

hullygully · 26/03/2009 13:47

I shall consider it over lunch. I'm meeting a couple of resting IBs so I'll canvass.
