To think that actually, it is NOT boring being a SAHM/housewife!

LaQuitar - That wasn't me being defensive, that was me just stating that I think that was a load of old nonsense. As I believe I have a perfect right to do. It just struck me as an incredibly condescending remark.

And I did put a afterwards - to try and give the impression that I wasn't being horrible.

I don't need counselling, honestly. But thank you for your concern

It was pretty boring but there are definite up-sides to a bit of boredom

Sometimes it is. Like any other fulltime task. I'm very happy to be a SAHM, but there's no point pretending it's always the most fulfilling wonderful bliss, because it isn't.

I found being a SAHM full-time boring so I went back to uni part-time. My son goes to nursery for four hours on monday and seven (more like six as a I spend my lunchhour cuddling and playing with him) on Tuesday and the rest of the week with me (and DH after 5.30pm and on weekends). It's the perfect balance with me as post-grad study keeps my brain ticking over and enables me to prepare for my future career and I get to spend the amount of time I want to spend with my son. Different things work for different people, I've got friends with dcs who work full-time, part-time, study, SAHM whatever and we're all lucky enough to be able to do what works for us and our families (well most of the time). I still find housework the most unbelievably boring thing in the world but enjoy cooking, playing, snuggling, reading to ds, and bfeeding when I'm at home and not sleep-deprived. I wish that I could afford a cleaner but who doesn't? SAHM is like any job it has its ups and downs. Sorry to rabbit on for so long.
