I love Latitude, been evry year, great for kids, love the theatre, the comedy, radio 4.
BUT just announced this years line up, got my credit card ready and we get.....Grace Jones/Pet Shop Boys/Nick Cave...WTF!

I wouldn't have spent £310 2x adults and capervan to see them 20 years ago.

It is supposed to be a music festival not a boden catalogue shoot.

Thats a lot of money.

I've paid £45 for Blissfields and they've got Laura Marling and Super Furry Animals.

Would love to see Nick Cave though.

StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 23/03/2009 20:24

Ha ha, Julie Myerson is also listed for Latitude. ROFL.

friday32 · 23/03/2009 20:25

who wants to see grace jones she wasnt even that popular in this country

Guadalupe · 23/03/2009 20:26

I know. I can't believe it, and you can't see any of the rest of the line-up, though I've seen Editors and Doves are playing on a forum.

I was ready to get the tickets but I'm not racing to atm.

Guadalupe · 23/03/2009 20:26

Julie Myerson and Jon Ronson!

zanz1bar · 23/03/2009 20:27

I know nice cave is a bit like marmite and die hard fans will love it, but Grace jones?
The price is for the weekend/2xadults and camper van.
YOur right its a ridiculous amount for grace effing jones.
Last year the memory lane choice was Blondie and she was shit hot.

I wish I'd gone last year. We went to Solfest, bloody miles away, and this year we said we'd go to latitude as it's not far away but, well, hmm.

zanz1bar · 23/03/2009 20:32

Oh god no, not julie Myerson...will she be walking around with a loud haler ranting on the sins of weed.

to go from blondie to grace jones oh the shame

peasholme · 23/03/2009 20:36

I have been similarly appalled by Green Man, which will cost me £291.50, of which £50 is for a campervan.
It's crackers! I have booked me Summer Sundae instead, which is considerably cheaper, friendlier and much less likely to rain. There will be too many festivals trying to survive this year, I can't believe that they haven't made pricing a bit more keen. And the line ups. (though Green Man have Wilco, which is quite impressive).

peasholme · 23/03/2009 20:37

I might quite enjoy seeing Myerson, mind.

FrayedKnot · 23/03/2009 20:47

I am a bit disappointed, was thinking about Latitude this year..

am now veering back towards Camp Bestival but I don;t think they have a family camping area

zanz1bar · 23/03/2009 20:52

I am more than a bit disapointed, i am livid.
It's a dull, dull, dull line up and not worth the money or the hours spent in the childrens zone making face masks.

OP posts:
FiveGoMadInDorset · 23/03/2009 20:54

Yes they do, they have 3 cammping areas, with the family one being the quietest and furthest away from the main festival are, but not that far.

StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 23/03/2009 21:07

Efests are still adament that Doves, Editors and Bat For Lashes will play Latitude. Hope so for people who have got tickets.

FrayedKnot · 23/03/2009 22:02

Five it doesn;t seem to say anything about family camping on the website. Have you been before?

It would be better dates-wise anyway.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 23/03/2009 22:37

LAst year they had three areas, one noisy, one medium and one quiet just for families, we went last year but as we are local we don't camp but had friends who did and said it was fine. They are moving the camping field this year so would imagine it is going to be the same.

Woooozle100 · 23/03/2009 22:41

that's a bit cack

went a couple of years ago and it was great. Introduced me to lots of stuff too. Maybe smaller stages will be good (tho do admit a few hundred quid for this not really worth it)

gagamama · 24/03/2009 11:09

Bah, YANBU! I was so excited about getting my tickets yesterday, in past years the lineup has always been amazing and it's been one of the highlights of my year. I logged on last night at 7pm and.... decided not to bother. Most disappointing.

AllFallDown · 24/03/2009 14:34

Pet Shop Boys and Nick Cave? Sound like great headliners. There's also Doves and Editors. I'm sure there'll be good stuff down the bill that's not been announced.

But YABU to complain: if you don't like it, don't buy tickets. I don't understand why you would complain about the price of seeing acts you don't like. I'd just go somewhere else.

StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 24/03/2009 20:01

I'm guessing the OP bought early bird tickets before the line up was announced. There's a fair amount of outrage on the efest forums and the Latitude website forums so she ain't the only one.

But Doves, Editors and Bat for Lashes have been confirmed today so thats better.
