to think my new outside airer should work?

I took DS (13 months) with me this morning to get an outside airer from Homebase. I'd measured the hole in the ground and based on that diameter the only one that would work was the Homebase brand one. So I bought it, came home very excited to hang out DS's laundy and the thing doesn't work. It collapsed twice when I'd just about finished putting the laundry on. So now I have to go back to the store and either get a refund or hope they've got a different airer to match the hole's diameter. I am supremely ticked off and wanted to vent.

YABU....you expected it to work? tut tut silly of course it wouldn't that would be far too easy!

At least they had one!

I went to Homebase this morning to buy a new one (as totally enraged by old one yesterday, couldn't work out if there was a bit missing or what, I ended up demented) but there were none at all.

Obviously recalcitrant rotary driers are rife around our area...

I've had far too many cr*p cheap rotary driers - so I've splashed out big time this time round on a Branbantia one - cost me an arm and a leg - have't got it up yet (and wouldn't be much good right now anyhow it's pising with rain LOL) - but I'm hoping that in this case you do get what you pay for
