Oh yes they are great and very funny.

hassledmom · 22/03/2009 13:20

Bloody thieving gits

NO WAY
they are producers of a shwo that embezzled its viewers btu apparently knew NOTHING about it

hassledmom · 22/03/2009 13:21

"Ant and Dec themselves said they had not been aware of the phone-in scandals.

The presenters - Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly - said they were ?extremely disappointed? by what had happened.

McPartlin said: ?We?d like to make it clear that we had no idea these problems existed.

?We have been fully supportive of this review and are extremely disappointed to discover that these irregularities have occurred.

?We fully support the changes that have been made within the programme as a result, and we?re 100 per cent behind ITV?s decision to reimburse all the viewers who were affected.?

Donnelly added: ?The Saturday Night Takeaway viewers are of the utmost importance to us and although we had no direct involvement in the phone-line process, Ant and I are now reassured that strict measures have been put in place to ensure that these kind of incidents can never happen again.?

how could they NOT KNOW?

brimfull · 22/03/2009 13:22

friday32 · 22/03/2009 13:26

I would like to believe them as they do seem genuinely nice blokes who are unaffected by their succes just down to earth geordie boys

OP posts:
PersephoneSnape · 22/03/2009 14:10

i can't abide them either together or seperately. i just don't think they're funny.

Tinker · 22/03/2009 14:27

Cannot stand them. Hate the way all Sat night tv seems to revolve around them.

purepurple · 22/03/2009 15:01

god, they annoy the tits off me!

get them off the TV!

cornsilk · 22/03/2009 15:04

No I'm bored of it now. They need to come up with something new.

mrsmaidamess · 22/03/2009 15:04

I thought this latest series was bad. Too many z lister celebs doing ANYTHING to get on telly. We watched the first one then gave up.

mamas12 · 22/03/2009 23:29

We like 'em. They are such pros. It is good old fashioned saturday night entertainment.
The phone thing was (is) endemic throughout the whole industry and everyone has been burnt, colluded and fooled but hopefully it's different now, so they are not entirely to blame.
But to go back to op. Do you think there is conspiracy about not letting Ant win? His Grease was much better than Decs Oliver even though there were a few tuning issues But that wig made him look like Groucho Marx I coundn't take that seriously at all.

gibbberish · 22/03/2009 23:32

Aren't they the same person?

Songbird · 22/03/2009 23:34

Did you know that they ALWAYS stand with Ant on the left and Dec on the right - I think it's written in their contracts!

notquitenormal · 22/03/2009 23:48

So they stand an alphabetical order then? Hah.

I've never know which one's which; I call them Ant or Dec.

They're sort of the new Noel's house party I suppose...watching is not to be admitted in public surely

mamas12 · 22/03/2009 23:54

I think it's what you call your secret guilty thingy thing (help) which is cool now to admit!!
I also have to say I love Brucie!

Songbird · 23/03/2009 10:23

Yep, I think it's because noone knows which one's which! Ant's always on the left - you just see!

princessmel · 23/03/2009 10:25

What mrsmaidamess said.

Eve4Walle · 23/03/2009 10:28

Don't watch them in our house.

Can't even get DD to watch them and she watches any old toot usually!

AitchTwoOh · 23/03/2009 10:34

i think they're fantastic. i really don't think that they'd have known about the telephone lines, though, they're probably producers in name only when it would come to minutiae like that. they're interested in how the show works on screen i think. plus they're not dense, they have to work that man of the people thing, they're not going to try to rip their audience off, it could have killed them.

Jux · 23/03/2009 10:36

I'm with hassledmum; and I think they're crap.

kslatts · 23/03/2009 11:44

I think Saturday Night Takeaway is great and that Ant and Dec are funny.

I agree with AitchTwoOh that it is very possible that they were not aware of the telephone thing.

DaphneMoon · 23/03/2009 11:47

I love them. Especially in I'm a celebrity get me out of here, it would not be the same without them. They actually have life insurance on each other in case something happens to one of them, because they so famous for being together.

Ivykaty44 · 23/03/2009 11:50

They don't come across as the brightest sparkes in the packet - perhaps they were not aware of the telephone scandles, I am sure if some people have worked with embezzelers they were not aware of what was happening and were shocked when it came to light - I doubt I would notice tbh.

They are not that funny but ok ish in small doses. Two Ronnies where my all time fav

DaphneMoon · 23/03/2009 11:54

They are good ambassadors for our DC's at the end of the day, Good, hardworking boys, no shame or scandals. No drug taking. When I look at some so called twats celebrities/pop stars on TV these days that are definitely not good examples to our DC's, like Amy Winehouse for a start!

GivePeasAChance · 23/03/2009 11:58

It really pisses me off on the "grab the ads" section, when they make a point of saying "these were the adverts on Heartbeat on Sunday 13th March" and then proceed to a series of items which have never been advertised on the telly. Ever.

For example, who has ever seen an advert for a toaster? a digital radio? a poop-a-scoop?

Still deceiving I think !
