to think all our building work has caused DS (15 months) to have a cough?

He is hacking away in his sleep after a day away from brick dust etc. He was coughing out and about today but nowhere near as bad as when we got home.

Should I have been more on the ball and moved out?

Why is he coughing after a day away from brick dust? It's hard to say if the building work is causing your ds's cough but even if it is, a cough isn't the end of the world.

It can't be healthy though to be breathing in brick dust, insolation etc??!!

It's not ideal but if you're living there, there's not much you can do. Just stay out during the day as much as possible and make the builders tidy up before they go home.

Is he doing building work in your sons bedroom?

If not, cant you keep the door closed?

When my daughter was on treatment we were not allowed to undertake any building work. She was immunosuppressed so I am talking about the extreme end of the spectrum, but yes building work can cause your child to develop a cough. There are all sorts of spores and nasties in brick dust etc.

weeellll, on the other hand at that age and this time of year, there are so many lurgies going round... DS has had horrible coughs several times over the last 3-4 months but no building work here! And it is usually worst at night, because of being horizontal - so it might be nothing to do with the building work.
