first sunny day and Im thinking of BBQs already

2 summers, yes 2 summers ago FIL held a busy BBQ, he asked if he could borrow ours as he only had a little round one.

We go to BBQ (the BBQ its self was only a few months old when he borrowed) All that summer kept asking for it back, 'no room in car' etc .. 'will bring it on xxx day'

Next summer comes along, I admittedly forgot about it as a year had past but do remember and asked a few times ... never got it back

Now its getting sunny again,

But TBH I don't really want it back.

I mean I will ask for it, but its been in his garden for 2 years! It was only £50 from argos (half price) so I think he should replace.

I would like to think he would offer.

But doubt he will.

Should DH ask for a new one? Not sure how that would go down!

personally I'd let it go for the sake of a peaceful life. I guess it depends how much you need the cash.

Disenchanted3 · 17/03/2009 14:39

need what cash?

im not asking for money.

just a new bbq, if not, then my old one back.

Either way i would not spend or save any money.

Buy a new one and let it go, but don't lend to him again...

EdwardBear · 17/03/2009 14:46

You cant ask for a new one just because its been in his garden for 2 years! If you still had it, it would have been in your garden for 2 years, not still brand spanking new!
Definitely ask him for your one back though.
Call him and set a time that you can go and collect it. Dont rely on him getting off his arse and delivering it.

Ive got my dads gas BBQ in my garden and have done for 18mnths!

I want to replace it this year with my own and my dad has said "whats wrong with my BBQ?" truth being - i want a charcoal one again, not the gas!

Go and get your old one yourself or buy a new one yourself.

Disenchanted3 · 17/03/2009 14:49

I can't buy a new one.

We always put it away in kids playhouse, its been in his garden.
