For a bit!!

Its time for me to have a break - so im off for a bit!!

I'm taking threads personally when people mean well, finding myself drawn back into arguments that i wouldn't normally have. Barking at well meaning and nice posters when they say stuff i don't want to hear.

So, im going to take a break - not sure if flouncers corner exists or not but im flouncing, with a flick of my badly dyed strawberry (read brassy) blonde locks

Thankyou and goodbye (for now!)

I've never described myself as a straight talker, but many a time as an arsehole. Let that be noted!

I'm sorry Slayorette, but really, some of us have been here a long time, and we wrestle with ourselves whilst saying long, indulgent goodbyes. It's a giggle for someone who hasn;t struggled with it, and mabe deserving of ridicule - but ridicule and criticism seems to be the norm from what to expect here - when I remember support and constructive criticism was the dish of the day.

Things have moved on. There is a massive demographic of MN'etters who think us who miss the old mn are tossers. Thats fine. Just makes me think it is time to move on and find somewhere a bit less populated and a bit more discerning. That's not me trying to be arsey or insulting, just maybe realising I'm older and don;t really get what I used to here. We have as much right to do this as anyone does. But MN started as a support site, now its more a social utility and a diversion. Thats great, I have no problem with that. But I (and maybe some others) are mouring it's passing as a support site where we made friends and learned a lot. Just try to ignore the oldtimers anf their griping rather than throw bricks at them maybe?

Monkeytrousers1 · 11/03/2009 23:24

We'll all be gone soon enough!

ScottishMummy · 11/03/2009 23:27

Monkeytrousers1 · 11/03/2009 23:29

Well just me SM, and whoever agrees with me - as in 'some' - sorry, am I offending you?

seriously, what is "the old MN",what constitutes old.is there a time line

any real time site like MN will change as number's increase, the profile and volume will increase.inevitably

casting aspersions on "new" MN or the new set up may not necessarily be best starting point for easy rapport

i find MN bit less cliquey lately.don't miss all the Oi MyBestPal come here posts or the sycophantic posts about the vociferous multi posters.hate all the MN who is your fave royalty gushing.

any site is what you put in
hang about see what evolves

ScottishMummy · 11/03/2009 23:42

i like kitchen utensils and a nice kettle, truly

Monkeytrousers1 · 11/03/2009 23:49

The aspersions are all in your head. LEM and me and others are just dealing with change. I don't get why that is so threatening to you.

Yes, there is a time line actually. A bit like school. You see people come and go but there are familiar faces. When they begin to go you miss them. God forbit we should offend you by discussing that.

I couldn't give a shit if you dislike Monkeytrousers - I wouldn't know you from adam if you didn't keep shoving your nose in other poeples business, only to tell them you don't understand it so why are you going on about it.

What is lacking her is maturity. It's all venting and, to be frank, it's dull. You have to rake through tons of shite to meet anyone you have a meaningful history with. That's the way MN has 'evolved' for me, and probaly a few people - hence the Moldies. But hey, if it bores you, why the fuck are you bothering reading this thread?

LEM can't say goodbye to the people she's known on here for years without a ruck. It;s pathetic.

Pan · 11/03/2009 23:52

no timeline I don't think. There was a breach it seemed when the there was an exodus to moldies ( though I was away for a few weeks/months and I ahve no idea what that was about). There is less cliquey stuff, and MN has grown massively since I first posted, and as you say SM, the site will evolve continually.

ScottishMummy · 11/03/2009 23:59

yikes cranky reply.i asked you an open question.you personalise an impersonal experience.a series of dialogues

words on screen don't threaten me.on any level. i queried your musings

i don't dislike anyone on MN.i can globally take part without she said/i said impacting

i cannot dislike an individual i dont know havent met.might not always agree with posts, but dont infer an absent personalisation

BitOfFun · 12/03/2009 00:01

LEM, I hope I see you soon after you've had a break- I'll miss you!

MonkeyTrousers, we aren't friends here (yet), but I am less than a year here and feel right at home, and I would like to think it's still worth hanging around! So I at you and hope to see you around

hf128219 · 12/03/2009 00:03

Hi BOF! Where's your latest gossip?

Monkeytrousers1 · 12/03/2009 00:10

tiredsville, you are right. I am too cranky. It's too much at my age with young kids to expect to log on and have a discussion with people I've 'known' for years without also being accused of being a maniac/racist/child abuser by people who don't know me from adam (to overuse the phrase). MN was a really good resource for me when DS was really young and I needed the stimulation of intellegent women. It could always be guarenteed here. That's just the way I feel. It's not casting aspersions on anyone here - just saying it's time for me to move on as most of my MN contempories have. I don't need the sontact anymore, it is more habit than anything else. So I'm going with LEM. Not flouncing - nothing so dramatic - just saying goodbye. I'm just old enough to want my dscusions to actually go somewhere other than in circles. Just please look on the Marnie Pearce threads and try to help

hf!! I am sorely lacking in gossip- I have a new job (thread in chat), but you need to feed me, lol! Mwah

Morloth · 12/03/2009 11:59

My goodness what a mass dummy spit!

TiggyR · 12/03/2009 12:09

Perhaps LEM just has PMT? I wish I could bugger off so easily. I only came on here for the first time about two weeks ago and I am seriously addicted, and doing sod all of any use in my life. Wouldn't mind but I don't even like most of you.

FannyWaglour · 12/03/2009 12:12

Never mind Tiggy, most of us arent very likeable.
